InSinkErator’s M Series 66 food waste
disposer features improved one-stage grind technology, with no blades – instead it uses stainless steel grinding elements, a 980ml grind chamber and Quick Lock mounting assembly for easy installation.
Anne Kaarlela, Marketing Communications and Customer Service Manager at InSinkErator, comments: “The majority of UK households now receive separate weekly food waste collections alongside their usual refuse collections, and this can mean smelly food waste accumulates in the kitchen, which can be unpleasant. An InSinkErator food waste disposer is an ideal alternative for consumers in this situation.”
Tumble dryers Tumble dryers are no-doubt one of the biggest gas-guzzling appliances in the home, so manufacturers have been increasingly adding sustainable parts and eco-friendly technology
Bosch Series 8 WQG24509GB Heat Pump Tumble Dryer and WGB256A1GB Washing Machine
into their designs. However, for those with older models or those looking to replace their tumble dryer, new legislation will require manufacturers to sell only heat pump dryers by 2025. Jacob Christian, Brand Manager for Laundry at Miele, explains that its TEF765 Tumble Dryer (below left) takes eco-friendly “to new heights” by being an ‘A+++’ heat pump model. “According to an independent study carried out by YourEko, the TEF765 was found to offer the highest energy savings of any tumble dryer in the GB market. It includes features such as EcoSpeed for faster drying – this allows for quicker drying cycles without impacting energy savings – and EcoDry Technology for long-term savings.” BSH introduced earlier this year its Series 8 tumble dryer, with its ‘A+++’ rating and with features including Auto Dry, which helps to reduce energy consumption and protect garments
by measuring humidity within clothes and automatically stopping the machine once the desired level of dryness is achieved. Another feature is its Connected Dry
program; this ensures that the best program is selected by the consumer and takes guesswork out of the equation. AEG’s tumble dryers – such as the 9000
Series (pictured left) – feature PreciseDry technology, and this ensures each cycle is adjusted based on the load size, which not only saves time and but also energy. Electrolux reports that it is the first in the industry to meet the science-based targets for climate neutrality and the brand revealed that it achieved its 2025 science-based climate targets for greenhouse emission reductions three years ahead of schedule. And LG’s Dual Inverter Heat Pump FDV309W 9kg Dryer includes similar environmentally-friendly features, including a Dual Inverter Heat Pump, plus Allergy Care. The latter reduces 99.9 per cent of live house dust mites that can cause allergy or respiratory issues, while its Sensor Dry feature optimises drying performance by detecting the moisture on the clothes and sets an automatic drying time.
