CDA MD keeps his cool raising thousands for Nottingham charity in fridge costume

CDA Managing Director Chris Ward successfully completed the Robin Hood Half Marathon last month dressed as a fridge, costume inspired by one of CDA’s own products. He raised £1,500 for Nottinghamshire-based suicide prevention charities Harmless and The Tomorrow Project. CDA matched his total, bringing the final donation to £3,000.

“It was an unforgettable day,” Mr Ward said. “Running 13 miles in a fridge costume certainly wasn’t easy, but the atmosphere was incredible. The support from the crowd, my colleagues and everyone who donated kept me going, and knowing

that the money raised will help save lives made every step worthwhile. I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who cheered me on along the route. It really made a difference.” He added: “Suicide prevention is a cause that is very close to my heart and I wanted to do something that could help others who might be struggling. I am proud that together we have raised awareness and vital funds for two organisations doing life-changing work in our community.” To learn more about Harmless and The Tomorrow

Samsung announces HDR10+ Advanced TV standard, eyes 2026 launch

HDR10, the open HDR TV standard, is evolving. Samsung has just announced HDR10+ Advanced, a dramatic upgrade designed for next generation televisions capable of extreme peak brightness and colour depth, reports Steve May. The development is a clear response to the recent launch announcement of Dolby Vision 2, at this year’s IFA fare in Berlin. The improved standard is expected to further expand the HDR 10+ ecosystem, which now includes 174 manufacturers and content providers.

Samsung announced the technology to ERT during

HDR 10+ Advanced builds on the growing demand for ever larger TVs, driven by continued growth in UHD streaming video services, and it lands with a dramatically expanded feature set, including Bright mode - designed to support next generation displays capable of a peak brightness of 4 – 5,000 nits, and wider colour gamut (BT 2020 100%). ERT expects the new HDR10+ Advanced technology to debut on high-end Samsung screens in 2026, after 
