ASKO’s Craft Glass built-in oven.

Blending style and functionality Bluestem Group highlights how ongoing economic pressures have made consumers more intentional in their buying behaviour, with many seeking products that help keep household costs down while complementing interior décor. Rather than sticking to the traditional white, black, and silver finishes, shoppers increasingly choose appliances that reflect personality or add a pop of colour. One example is Statesman’s 8L Dual Zone Air Fryer, a compact multi-use appliance designed to offer a healthier everyday cooking option. It allows users to recreate favourites such as chips, nuggets, and grilled meats with minimal oil, while its 360 degree hot air circulation ensures faster and more even cooking. The dual baskets make it easy to cook different dishes simultaneously, saving both time and countertop space, while eight pre-set programmes, including roast, reheat, bake, and a dedicated chips setting, cater to busy lifestyles. Dishwasher-safe parts provide added convenience, making clean-up as quick as cooking. The Ariete Vintage Range has gained traction by combining retro-inspired style with everyday practicality. The collection includes breakfast essentials such as a 1.7-litre jug kettle and two- slice toaster, drip and espresso coffee machines, a 1.5-litre glass jug blender, a 5.5-litre stand mixer, and an 18-litre electric mini oven. The range allows consumers to maintain a cohesive kitchen aesthetic while accessing appliances capable of handling multiple cooking tasks, from blending and baking to roasting and brewing.

To showcase these products in-store, Bluestem Group recommends independent retailers create dedicated demonstration areas where customers can see the products in action. Filmed demos can also be shared online to reach wider audiences. The company provides an extensive library of product videos for use in-store or on retailer websites and social channels, acting as a ‘silent salesman’ that highlights features and functionality. Ensuring good stock availability is also key, as consumers are more likely to buy if they can take products home the same day. Flexible delivery options, including next-day services, further enhance customer experience.

Smart kitchens, connected cooking A Haier spokerson explains that kitchens have evolved dramatically, shifting from purely functional spaces to lifestyle hubs where design, technology, and wellbeing converge. “Today’s consumers expect appliances that not only perform flawlessly but also elevate the look and feel of their home while simplifying everyday routines,” says a spokesperson. Smart connectivity, energy efficiency, and advanced features such as AI-assisted cooking and induction technology are now shaping the next wave of kitchen innovation.

Cooking at home has become a mindful,

creative experience, with people finding comfort, connection, and a sense of achievement in preparing meals from scratch. Much of this renewed enthusiasm is influenced by social media, along with growing interest in healthier living and more cost-conscious choices. Home

cooking is now as much about enjoyment as practicality, and consumers want appliances that make the process effortless and rewarding. Haier highlights innovations across its brands.

Haier’s ID Series ovens feature AI precision cooking for perfect results, while induction hobs offer professional-level accuracy and energy efficiency. Hoover’s Collection 3 and 5 cooking ranges focus on smart features and speed, helping users achieve restaurant-quality results. All of these appliances can connect to the hOn app, allowing users to control them remotely, optimise energy usage, and explore guided recipes. Stephen Frost, Trade Marketing Manager at Haier Europe, explains that independent retailers play a critical role in showcasing these products. “Knowledgeable store staff are vital,” he says. “We provide POS materials and QR codes linking to product-specific videos, and our ovens can operate in demo mode so customers can test features safely and confidently.” Mr Frost adds that Haier supports retailers

through events, demos, and training, with Regional Sales Managers and Training Teams regularly visiting stores to provide hands-on guidance and build strong relationships.

Precision, connectivity and design The role of the kitchen has evolved dramatically in recent years, moving from a functional space to a hub of creativity and lifestyle. Chloe Blanchfield, Product Marketing Manager at Hisense UK, explains: “Consumers are inspired by professional techniques and expect restaurant-quality results at home. This has driven demand for multifunctional, smart appliances that make cooking both convenient and enjoyable.” >>
