June 2019 IFA Conference A glance at IFA Berlin 2019 IFA’s global press conference gave a first sneak peek at some of this year’s innovations
Connectivity, artifi cial intelligence, voice control and 5G are the big trends driving innovation for consumer electronics and home appliances this year, and they will all be on display at the world’s largest technology show, IFA Berlin, which takes place on 6-11 September 2019. IFA’s Global Press

which took place at the end of April – gave a sneak peek towards the plans for the German show.
The eyes... and the EARS of the industry IFA announced its fi rst IFA Global Audio Partner in Sennheiser, a company that has been exhibiting at IFA for the past 69 years. Sennheiser will support key IFA events with its range of professional audio gear and support journalists with equipment and technical support. Said Dr Andreas Sennheiser, Co- Chief Executive Offi cer of Sennheiser: “At IFA in Berlin we are especially excited to become part of IFA Next, where we will demonstrate our AMBEO applications in the fi eld of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality – one of the trend topics for this year’s IFA.”
TCL
Chinese brand, TCL, outlined its ambitions to become a major player in Europe over the next three years, across the categories of TV, audio and air-conditioning. Marek Maciejewski, Product Development Director, TCL Europe, said that the business is aiming for a top three position in Europe by 2020. In July, TCL Europe will launch its fi rst four ranges of headphones as well as a standalone sound bar.
Haier
The IFA 2019 Global Press Conference was the fi rst offi cial press event attended by Haier Europe CEO, Yannick Fierling, after the recent acquisition of the Candy Hoover Group. During his presentation, Mr Fierling highlighted Haier’s intent to serve a wide range of consumer targets thanks to its multi-brand strategy. Currently ranked fi fth in Western
Europe in terms of combined revenues, Haier aims to become one of the top three Groups within year 2022. Haier has already been the world’s number one in home appliances for 10 consecutive years, building its success on the strategic commitment to innovation, branding, R&D and intelligent manufacturing.
The industry comes together Messe Berlin CEO, Dr Christian Göke, highlighted the reasons for IFA’s unrivalled international success. “No industry operates in isolation, but only at IFA can you see the true breadth of it. Tomorrow’s smart homes are being innovated today by companies from the consumer electronics sector, health and wellness, white goods and many more… and the only place where you can see them all come together is IFA Berlin.”

Hisense Gorenje (DACH)
Julian Lietzau, Marketing Director, Hisense Gorenje (DACH), announced that the company’s sponsorship of the Euro 2020 championship will feature both Hisense and Gorenje brands. Mr Lietzau said the sponsorship will run
across the company’s TV, refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, smart phones, tablets, air conditioning and SDA product categories. He added that it also includes the brand logos on
Safera
Safera is changing the smart cooking game with the launch of Safera Sense, the “First Complete Smart Cooking Sensor”. Safera Sense recognises various cooking events and sets timers automatically, monitors air qua lity and tells you when it’s time to ventilate, and alarms if the stove has been accidentally left on.

Mr Lietzau also presented the new Hisense U9 ULED Premium TV series, which will be launched at IFA in September: “This is a quantum leap towards what’s next,” he said. “With 33,177,600 pixels, the 75U9E is one of the highest resolution TVs made today.”
