The latest refrigeration products from Blomberg

With food waste and environmental concerns still high on the agenda in the UK, Blomberg has invested in two new fridge freezers – its fi rst ever combis that incorporate a dual-cooling system, Blue Light technology and an A++ energy rating, available in both freestanding and built-in.

KND4682LW Freestanding No Frost Fridge Freezer and KND4552I Integrated 70:30 No Frost Fridge Freezer

Key features and technology: ■ Dual cooling – the use of two separate cooling systems that work independently provides optimal humidity in the fridge and a dry environment in the freezer; ■ A++ energy efficiency – minimising energy usage in the home, this fridge freezer can save up to 40 per cent in energy consumption compared to A-rated models; ■ Blue Light technology – blue LED lights in the salad crisper act like natural sunlight to preserve the taste and texture of fruit and vegetables;

■ Digital display – activate functions such as holiday mode, and accurately set and monitor the temperature for the fridge and freezer compartment; ■ Metal backed wall (KND4552i) – located on the back-wall inside the built-in fridge, this helps to retain the cold temperature and provides a unique, yet premium, design; ■ Quick Cool/Freeze – this rapidly lowers the temperature of the fridge or freezer compartment to keep the nutrients and taste of your food locked-in.

Blomberg’s first side-by-side with a non-plumbed water and ice dispenser: KWD253PX American Style Fridge Freezer

The side-by-side market has been showing signs of growth this year (according to GFK data covering January to April 2019) so there is no better time for Blomberg to launch its first non- plumbed water and ice side-by-side – KWD253PX. It can be an added expense for people to plumb in a fridge freezer once they have it in their kitchen, as it can mean installing a new water outlet. Having a water tank in the fridge (which needs to be manually filled) that pumps water round to the freezer means you don’t need to plumb anything in, so can be placed anywhere in the kitchen and there are no expensive filters to replace every six months, which is another saving you can pass-on to your customers.

Key features and technology: ■ Cubed or crushed ice and chilled water on tap – whether your customer favours a cool refreshing glass of water or some cubed or crushed ice for their favourite cocktail or spritzer, you can get it all from the external water and ice dispenser; ■ Dual cooling – the use of two separate cooling systems that work independently provides optimal humidity in the fridge and a dry environment in the freezer; ■ Blue Light technology – blue LED lights in the salad crisper act like natural sunlight to preserve the taste and texture of fruit and ve getables; ■ Large glass water tank – Blomberg uses a glass tank instead of plastic; this has perceived health and environmental benefits and can also be washed in the dishwasher; ■ Chiller compartment – providing the ideal environment for your meat, fish and dairy items, the chiller compartment maintains a low temperature of around zero degrees to help them stay fresh for longer.
