COOK LIKE A PRO Home Appliances

Dan Harvie, VP, Head of Home Appliances at Samsung Electronics UK, says that to reflect this emerging trend, the manufacturer is continually introducing new features to meet changing lifestyle needs, such as air frying. “Earlier this year,” he explains, “we launched the 5 and 6 Series cooking appliances, including multiple ovens which come with an air frying function built in, helping to promote healthy eating. Simply place food on the tray and use the Air Fry mode to cook food using a little oil.

“Plus, with SmartThings Cooking, you can get personalised recipes and a weekly meal plan that promote healthy eating, ensuring you always stay on track.” Away from the built-in options, standalone air fryers have been sending shoppers crazy in recent months. With a lot of hype in the media causing queues snaking queues outside certain supermarkets, demand was high…

A lot of hot air! Back in December, RKW announced that its flagship brand, Tower, expected sales of its air fryers to top 1.3 million that month – which is a 50 per cent increase for the whole of 2022.

Building on this, the brand is launching new models, including the Tower Vortx Vizion 9L Dual Basket (T17100). Vortx technology is exclusive to the Tower brand; it rapidly circulates hot air around food, cooking up to 30 per cent faster than a conventional oven. Then, 10 one-touch presets ensure meals are available at the touch of a button, with added viewing windows to monitor the food cooking process. This air fryer model includes

customers time and money in the kitchen, as there’s no need to constantly open the baskets to check progress of the food.

In the Autumn, we saw a new range of four Aerofryers from Princess (part of the Smartwares Group). The 182075 Aerofryer (pictured here) offers nearly all of the functions of a conventional oven at a fraction of the cost. Its large 11L capacity and powerful 1,800W motor also means there’s space to cook multiple foods for all the family. Flexibility is guaranteed via the built-in rotisserie, 3L rotating frying basket, three grill trays and five shelf levels. There is also a touch screen control, a built-in timer and 10 pre-programmed modes to make cooking a sinch.
