ERT Awards 2023 finalists revealed!
The finalists have been announced for this year’s ERT Awards! You can see the shortlist on pages 18-19 of this issue. The winners will be revealed at the prestigious ERT
Awards ceremony on Thursday 9 November at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London – once again
bringing together retailers and suppliers to recognise excellence across the whole electrical retail industry! Don’t forget to book tickets for this year’s event via:
www.ertawards.co.uk. Individual tickets and tables of 10 are available to purchase. Last month a panel of industry experts convened to discuss and deliberate over which retail businesses they thought were worthy of an ERT Awards trophy. Meanwhile, the entries for the manufacturer/supplier categories were voted for by electrical retailers from all corners of the industry. ERT magazine Editor, Jack Cheeseman, commented: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to this year’s judges for coming together to review all of the retailer entries and deciding on the winners; we couldn’t have done it without them!
What does a net zero future look like for the appliances in our homes?
AMDEA has announced plans for its 2050 Appliances of the Future – The Road to Net Zero conference, in partnership with the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) and hosts City University of London. The event, chaired by broadcaster Maggie Philbin OBE, will take place on 21 September with a stellar line up of CEOs from the UK’s leading brands, senior government regulators, academics and senior figures from the major appliance retailers; they will discuss the challenges and
new approaches to design, maintenance and re-use, how to support consumers to make sustainable choices and how the regulatory environment will enable the industry to achieve 2050 net zero emissions. A leading technology futurologist will close the
day with insights into the technological and societal advances that will influence the industry in 10 to 15 years’ time. Delegates will also enjoy a manufacturer showcase and a tour of the new AV/VR/AI suite at City University of London.
“This year it really was harder than ever to settle on the winners for each category, simply because the quality of all the entries was so high and nearly every retailer has made significant changes to their business this year – which all had to be taken into account during the judging process. “And lastly, thank you to all the retailers that took the time to vote for their favourite manufacturers and suppliers in recent weeks. I’m pleased to announce all the finalists for 2023, and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the ERT Awards in London in November. It’s going to be a really great day!”
The one-day conference is free to attend; for more information and to register you can find the link on the ERT website.
