RANGE REVIEW

BLACK+DECKER® expands POWERCONNECT™ range with new brushless cordless tool collection

Power tool specialist BLACK+DECKER® has expanded its popular POWERCONNECT™ platform with the launch of a new range of high-performance brushless cordless power tools to help DIYers take on more ambitious home improvement projects with greater power, runtime and efficiency. Now available to buy at Wickes and Argos in the UK, the new collection introduces brushless motor technology across a selection of core DIY tools, including a Hammer Drill Driver, Impact Driver, Circular Saw, Jigsaw and Reciprocating Saw. Providing an extra layer of confidence to those tackling home upgrades, the range combines enhanced performance with the convenience of BLACK+DECKER’s interchangeable 18V POWERCONNECT battery system. Each tool in the new collection has been developed with practicality and ease of use in mind. Features across the range include variable speed triggers for improved control, integrated LED work lights for enhanced visibility, ergonomic overmild grips for greater comfort during extended use and state-of-charge battery indicators to help users monitor power levels whilst working.

The new Hammer Drill Driver features a robust 13mm single-sleeve metal chuck, 220Nm maximum torque and a three-speed selector, helping users confidently tackle a wide range of drilling and fastening applications. Meanwhile, the Circular Saw offers a 165mm blade with cutting depths of up to 54mm in wood, making it suitable for a variety of intricate woodworking projects. For precision cutting tasks, the Jigsaw delivers a 25.4mm stroke length, pendulum action and cutting capacities of up to 200mm in wood, while the Reciprocating Saw combines brushless technology with a generous 300mm wood cutting capacity and tool-free blade changes for increased convenience.

As part of the wider POWERCONNECT™ platform, all tools are compatible with existing 18V POWERCONNECT batteries, allowing users to build their collection without investing in multiple battery systems. The platform already spans power tools, garden equipment and home cleaning products, helping users get more from every battery purchase. Prices within the range start at £49.99 and all products are backed by BLACK+DECKER’s five-year guarantee. Tim Winstanley, Brand
