its Plug-In Solar Pro proposition specifically with the emerging British market in mind, with a strong emphasis on electrical safety, product quality, clear consumer information and long-term support. The company is preparing an all- in-one consumer package, bringing together

Founder and CEO
Andrew Moore says: “Plug-in solar has the potential to open solar generation to millions of people who have previously found traditional rooftop systems difficult or unaffordable to access.
“But making solar simpler must never mean compromising on safety
or quality. Consumers need to know that the product they are buying has been properly assessed, is designed for the UK market and comes from a business that will still be there to support them after the purchase. “We have taken the technical
and regulatory process extremely seriously. Reaching this milestone is therefore an important moment for UKSOL and brings us another step closer to getting our Plug-In Solar Pro system into the hands of British consumers.”
Opening solar to more households
Plug-in solar could particularly benefit people who may not be able to install a conventional rooftop solar system, including renters and households with balconies, terraces, gardens or other suitable outdoor areas. UKSOL believes the technology
Safety and consumer confidence UKSOL is also urging consumers to pay close attention to product standards as the new market develops. Moore adds: “We expect plug in solar to become an exciting new consumer category, but there is a real responsibility on manufacturers and retailers to get the introduction right. “Consumers should be able to who manufactured

or supplied their system, what testing has been undertaken, what warranty and technical support sits behind it and whether it meets the requirements for the UK market. “Price will obviously matter, but solar equipment is a long-term electrical product. Safety, provenance, quality and after-sales support need to matter too.” UKSOL intends to work with Government, DESNZ, the electrical industry, retailers and other stakeholders as the UK plug-in solar market develops.
Further details of the UKSOL Plug- In Solar Pro product and its consumer launch will be announced shortly.
