When it comes to getting your brand noticed, Durston Garden Products wasn’t hiding its light under a bushel at this year’s show. For a second year running, Lucy Flashman bravely paced the halls of the show dressed as a bag of compost! “I know you won’t believe it when I say this, but I actually enjoyed every minute at Glee, hence I came back for a second year,” she says. “People automatically feel sorry for me and think I am doing it under duress but I loved it...... Everyone at the show was so
friendly, I kept getting stopped with people offering me drinks and sweets, I had a ball, it was great fun”.
Durston, located in Hall 18, said it “had an excellent show” again this year and continued to push its current marketing mantra: ‘Buy British’.
Technology as a solution From hydroponics to smart grilling and irrigation systems, Glee was awash with technology that provided a number of garden and outdoor living solutions. Crest Garden had a lot of interest in its varity of Flopro Eco Smart watering systems, including its weather-responsive water tap timer. Crest Garden was among those showcasing hydroponic growing
equipment, with its accessible Hydropod range. Other exhibitors included Jardinice with products such as the Jardin Secret range: a flower box with water reserve, coloured LED lighting and a Bluetooth speaker! Meanwhile Weber launched its new iGrill – a range of state-of-the-art app connected thermometers; and Westland showcased its Deadfast wifi-connected rodent trap.
