2. One-weld from Aliaxis Aliaxis’ PLX One-Weld Fittings secondary-contained electrofu- sion fittings range comprises an innovative coupler and an industry first 90-degree elbow. The new fittings have been designed to generate significant time savings for installers. Part of the PLX fuel system range, the One-Weld Fit- tings are designed for use with the PLX Close-Fit Pipe. The new fittings will save installers an average of 15 minutes per fitting on site and half a day of labour on a typical fore- court project. Designed with the forecourt sector in mind, PLX One- Weld Fittings are available in sizes 110#125mm for offset tanker fill lines and 63#75mm for dispenser product lines, ensuring that fore- court and service station specifica- tions can be met.

4 . Cemex hits the streets CEMEX’s Streetpave is a complete three-stage bedding, bonding and jointing mortar paving system. All three products in the system are high performance and offer rapid strength, including; STREETPAVE PaveBase bedding mortar; PaveGrip priming slurry; and PaveFill flowing joining mortar. These products can be used together for pavements constructed with clay, natural stone or concrete pavers. STREETPAVE PaveBase bedding mortar is made from cement and graded aggregates, and is available in a silo, bulk and 25kg bags. STREETPAVE PaveGrip priming slurry uses specially selected aggregates to create the essential bond between the bedding and the paving element. Delivered in bulk or 25kg bag, it is applied with a brush at 1-2mm thick. STREETPAVE PaveFill flowing joining mortar is fast-setting and frost resistant. It can be applied in joint widths of 5-50mm and up to 200mm deep in a single pass.

3. Welsh Slate lodges new life in cemetary
A derelict Grade II listed cemetery lodge in West Yorkshire is being repurposed with the help of a multi-patterned Welsh Slate roof. The Victorian building at Edgerton Cemetery in Huddersfield was built as a home and office for the registrar and superintendent of the new Edgerton Cemetery when it opened in
1855.The original Welsh slates, which had been on the roof since it was built - some 165 years - required replacing like-for-like and so some 850 of Welsh Slate’s Penrhyn Heather Blues now adorn the gothic-style building.
To match the originals, they were cut into five different shapes by two experienced craftsmen from Welsh Slate distributor Yates & Company. The 200m2 of slates were installed over 16 weeks using two copper nails per slate over replacement joists, membrane and battens.
