FIXING GOOD, BETTER BEST FOR CUSTOMERS

Double countersunk for added strength as well as the pozi recess makes these fixtures and fastenings suitable for most jobs without the need to change the bit – saving the end user time as well as money.
Spectre forms the ‘better’ portion of this collection with its advanced multi-purpose
woodscrew range. At a little extra cost, spectre delivers a type 17 cutting tip for a faster start. The improved features include a reamer thread to prevent tracking and spinning of the wood and a sawtooth thread to reduce the chance of splitting alongside a pozi-compatible recess and double countersunk head. The Spectre product range has also been expanded to include even more products designed to make the tradesperson’s life just that little bit easier. As well as the popular spectre advanced multi-purpose wood, and coach screws, a comprehensive range of holesaws and screwdriver bits have been added. Merchanting support Forgefix is also there to support merchants and their specifically selected customers with on-site product training. The team, led by Forgefix’s technical director, travels the uk to undertake training and covers all areas from product selection, uses, safety and best practices.
The training aims to make those who attend more familiar and confident with the products but also helps build relationships between merchants and their customers, helping them to be seen as knowledgeable and supportive.
The training days or customer trade events are supported by a series of training videos, specifically developed to support product understanding and knowledge. The videos for the forgefast brand, for instance, include self drilling and low torque screws, decking screws and anti-split and fast start screws amongst many others. The videos show product applications, uses
and benefits to support users in making the right product choice. Forgefix has also grown its sales team to offer increased face-to- face contact. Across Forgefix’s ranges, the company is also looking to make merchant’s lives easier by providing end users with information on the actual packaging, meaning that they don’t need to open boxes or disrupt merchandising to find the information they need.
