Independent business Lords Builders Merchants has celebrated 20 years of activity at its Park Royal branch.

The branch at Park Royal opened in 2001 and was the first heavy side location in the business. Since then, it has expanded into a

Toolstation launches

monster TV ad campaign

Toolstation’s latest TV advert pays homage to one of the best films about dinosaurs of the last 30 years. It’s designed to celebrate the skills of key tradespeople across the UK and remind viewers of the tough tasks they face. While it doesn’t quite show the scariest bit of the film (Ed: Velociraptors + kitchen + door handles. Nuff said.), the Tools & More brand campaign shows a female electrician being called out to an emergency at a West Country farm in what appears to be a quintessentially English country scene to fix an electric fence.

The electrician goes into action mode as she realises that this is no ordinary escaped animal, and on completing the job, she and the farmer have contained the asset. The autumn launch will run for 10 weeks and includes 30 second and 10 second edits for TV, 30 second radio spots, digital, social and OOH – and launched with the first TV spot on the evening of Saturday, 4th September.

three-acre site with three buildings covering 30,000 square feet and became a key building materials distributor in West London. While the branch extended and the business has grown exponentially, the culture remained the same. Managing director Jamie Herd, who has been part of Lords Builders Merchants since the very beginning in 2001 said: “People have always been and will always be at the centre of the company. We focus on building long-lasting relationships with customers and employees alike, preserving the family culture

we started with.” Shanker Patel, the CEO of Lords Builders Merchants said: “We are very thankful for the loyal customers who’ve been part of the journey since its

beginning in 2001 and the new customers that trusted our services and joined along the way. We also want to show our appreciation for all our employees along the years, from the lads in the yard, the drivers, the salespeople to the management team. The excellent customer

Buttles turns out for Watford FC Independent builders’

merchants, Buttle’s, has teamed up with Watford Football Club in a three-season deal as part of its Regional Partner Programme. Buttle’s, which has branches in Leighton Buzzard, Kentish Town, Enfield, and St Albans, will appear on stadium branding platforms to over 21,000 fans and will feature across Sky Sports during any aired home matches, raising awareness across large TV audiences. The partnership offers the builders merchants a great opportunity for exposure within the local community – a real

coup for the company, with a number of Buttle’s team members being Watford season ticket holders.

Hannah Brunton, commercial manager for Buttle’s said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to connect even further with our local community and it’s great to be involved in something that both the Buttle’s team and our customers have an interest in.” The team, known as The Hornets, will promote Buttle’s on digital channels, while also affording them additional media opportunities.

developed in association with Eleven Sports Media. Paul Morris, senior account manager, said: “As a Watford Regional Partner, Buttles will see their branding appear on Crowd- Facing LED at the club’s stadium Vicarage Road and displayed on StadiumTV and StatTV within the concourses.

“The business also features on StatTracker social media content, which is shared to the club’s official channels, reaching a global audience. In addition, Buttles will connect with local businesses through exclusive Regional Partner events, which have included Q&A evenings with former Watford players.

JB Kind Doors just keep walking for charity

STAFF at JB Kind raised thousands for a worthy cause when they went for a very long walk. The team of 25 completed the virtual OutDOOR Walkathon this month in aid of charity, Dementia UK.

The challenge was to walk the equivalent distance from the company’s base in Swadlincote all the way to John O’Groats. However, they enjoyed the challenge on the MyVirtualMission app so much they ended up going further around the north coast of Scotland, travelling for 822 miles,

an extra 265 on top of the original target of 557.

Not only that, walkers beat their fundraising target of £1500 and

have so far raised over £3,500 (incl gift aid) for Dementia UK. Managing director James Cadman said: “We are delighted with the success of our OutDOOR Walkathon. The team really enjoyed taking part and in these Covid times, it was a really lovely way of bringing us all together. “Everyone really put in an extra effort and there was quite a bit of competition on our leader board! “We’re pleased that our fundraising efforts have gone so well and that we’ve been able to give generously to Dementia UK.”
