MERCHANT FOCUS: JEWSON

COME, THE NEW JEWSON J

ust over a year on from its acquisition by the Danish Stark Group, UK builders merchant chain Jewson has a brand new look.

The rebrand – revealed to customers and suppliers at Jewson Live On Tour – sends a clear signal to the industry that there is big change taking place at Jewson, according to John Carter, CEO of STARK UK. “It allows us to demonstrate clearly that we are taking steps to be different, and meet the needs of modern tradespeople and builders in unique ways,” he says.

“Our aim is to be the most trusted builders’ merchant for UK tradespeople. For any business that starts a new journey, just as Jewson did 12 months ago, there is always a reset and a new call to action. We have a new mindset that is centred on our customers, investment, ambition, and building pride in the industry. “The rebrand represents part of the transformation journey, but there is a bigger picture to consider. Jewson is proud to partner the trades, and our Trust in Better strategy is a framework we’re using to become the UK’s number one merchant. That involves investing in our branches, product range, availability, our people, technology and above all else, the quality of service we’re able to offer.” Carter says that the branch portfolio - more

than 450 across the UK – offers a huge opportunity to put merchant relationships at the centre of tradespeople’s businesses. “That’s what we aim to achieve. We believe we’re on the path to transforming not only the Jewson business, but the entire customer-merchant experience. This is just the beginning.” The new branding features ‘Anton’, adopted from the wider Stark Group, a visual personification of a builder, while the new colour palette showcases dark and sky blue, and a vibrant coral accent.

“We’re about to introduce new visual identities for Major Build Solutions and Jewson Partnership Solutions – specialist brands within the STARK Building Materials UK portfolio,” Carter continues; complementing the launch of the new brand is the re-launch of Build Aviator, Jewson’s estimating service.

He adds: “At the outset of the refresh, customers will see the new brand reflected regular communications, delivery notes and
