RAINWATER MANAGEMENT
with comprehensive product portfolios. Suppliers such as Marley Plumbing & Drainage offer a great variety of profiles, from the Gothic stylings of its Regency range to the minimalistic modern Flowline gutter system. “As a merchant, it’s important to provide accurate information and advice that can help customers find suitable solutions. This will require some knowledge, particularly about the different profiles, styles and capacity sizes on offer.”
Meanwhile, over at Marley Alutec, the three guttering systems - Evolve, Traditional and Aligator - offer a solution for every application. “Increasingly, construction professionals want high-quality products that require minimal maintenance,” says Nick Glover, head pf sales and marketing. “This type of fit and forget solution can reduce customer call-backs and
allow tradespeople to move on to new projects. Take the Evolve gutter system range for example. The durable solution combines all the benefits of recyclable marine-grade aluminium and a unique patented Jura-Joint system for quick and simple jointing which, combined with its lightness - especially in comparison with cast iron - makes it easy and safer to handle and install. As such, it is perfect for customers working on projects that prioritise sustainability, longevity, and ease of fit.”
Aluminium is an infinitely recyclable material, which loses no structural quality through the recycling process. As such, the material is very environmentally friendly and should always be considered if a customer is working on a ‘green’ project. Additionally, the range can cope with a 333m2 roof area per downpipe, making it the perfect solution for large homes.
Developers at Milestone Farm in Wymondham chose Marley Alutec’s Evolve range for use on the main house and attached double garage. As with all Marley Alutec’s aluminium guttering, the range was also finished with a fade resistant architectural grade polyester powder coat paint (PPC) finish in order to match the building’s aesthetic, which provides excellent and uniform colour retention throughout its longevity.
Glover points out that all Marley Alutec’s rainwater products carry a 50+ year functional life expectancy with minimal maintenance, including the Aligator rainwater guttering system. “A sleek and modern solution, the range is available in two distinctive design solutions; Aligator Deepflow, Ogee and Boxer which all come with internal joints and concealed brackets, and also Aligator Classic, a domestic sized system with external unions and brackets,” he says. “The engineered solutions are perfect for customers working on modern homes as the internal joints and concealed brackets, offer a sleek and unobtrusive design.”
The company also offers the Traditional range, ideal for the replacement of old cast iron rainwater systems and particularly suited for customers working on listed buildings,
