within the same batch is guaranteed to be uniform both in length and width, making the process of laying patterns so much easier. It has a really popular contemporary look and feel and comes in five diverse colours to suit all tastes and projects.”
The company has also introduced a new range to the Evolution Stone collection: Evolution Granite, which mimics the colour tones and the natural texture of granite. “Trademarked to Digby Stone, this exclusive collection addresses industry product shortages and creates an innovative solution with an inventive material,” he says. “As porcelain
is a huge draw for consumers. Garden kitchens are incredibly in vogue now, and because our porcelain is stain-resistant it makes it an ideal product to use.
“Our range mimics the best natural flooring products available, with Crosswood timber effect even having a grained texture printed into each paving slab. The techniques used by our porcelain manufacturers to replicate the detail of traditional natural stone products and timber ranges whilst offering a super durable, algae resistant product is second to none.” Williams repports that grey still appears to be the choice of colour for this year, with maybe a little nod towards lighter shades of beige for those looking for something other than the infinite shades of grey.
“Large, long aspect paving has been the trend for the past couple of years, but as landscapers and consumers seek new and different options, we have introduced Tegal into the range – a 900x900 single size paving in 3 stunning shades which based on initial feedback, we believe will be a very popular addition.”

is growing in popularity, we combined well known qualities with popular natural stone textures and colours, to create a hybrid of perfect paving. Available in two of the most popular granite colours, Ice and Dusk with the added versatility of three size choices this product enables a natural look with all the modern qualities on offer from porcelain.” Porcelain as a landscaping product is here to stay, agrees Pavestone managing director Krystal Williams. “There have been significant growths over the last 12 months, and we feel that it will keep on getting stronger,” she says. “To that effect, we have introduced no less than 17 new porcelain products into our range. The attraction of minimal maintenance

Williams adds that the company understands that the sale doesn’t start and finish with the paving and that care, maintenance, and using the right products, is essential in keeping customers satisfied. “We are passionate about paving and we often are asked to look at staining caused by harsh chemicals mis-sold as patio cleaners. For this reason, we have developed our own range of paving cleaners, restorers and protective sealers. Every product has been given the Pavestone seal of approval, and because none of our range contains any acidic chemicals we can confidently say it is suitable for all paving products. We also have our own Priming Slurry – essential for use with porcelain but now favoured by many landscapers for use on all products to improve the bonding strengths and lifespan of the paving. Then of course there is our Pavestone Pointfix, a superior multi-use jointing and repair compound. Without the need for specialist tools, it can also be used on wet surfaces – even when it rains and for Porcelain fans, we have a specially formulated, flexible, rapid setting paving grout which gives a smooth, stain, mould and water-resistant finish.” Accidents happen, she continues, and spillages or rusting garden furniture can leave unsightly marks. “Sometimes in high temperatures (although we are in Britain…) residue from grouting can cause staining to paving which is troublesome to remove. Our resin residue remover has been designed to not affect the joint and is completely non- hazardous.”
Sealing natural stone is very much open to debate, but fundamentally is down to the consumer’s preference. Williams says, that they may be sealing to give a more vibrant look, or they may want to add a layer of protection to

the surface to minimise staining. “Our range of sealants are water based and breathable, meaning they can be used straight after the paving is laid, as long as weather and site conditions allow.”
