Bradfords Building Supplies opens branch in Launceston

Bradfords Building Supplies is opening a new branch in Launceston, Cornwall.

The 46th in Bradfords’ growing portfolio of outlets across the South West, the Launceston opening follows the company’s new Torquay branch. Creating 18 new jobs, the Launceston branch will include a bathroom and kitchen showroom and a tool hire service, as well as access to Bradfords’ products.

Beeseley & Fildes adds new roofing showroom

Safety features being trialled at the new branch include a brand new, industry leading AI safety system, which gives Bradfords the ability to slow or stop its forklifts when a staff member or customer is in close proximity. Automatic barriers in walkways offer further protection, in addition to systems to warn both people and forklifts of the proximity of each other. With plans to host Bradfords’ latest sustainability centre, the

Launceston store is heated using an air source heat pump, supported by a solar PV array and features a green wall, and locally sourced stone.

“We’re ready to bring a comprehensive range of products to serve local trade and DIYers – including plans for a new sustainability centre here – and are looking forward to building new relationships as we support them in their projects,” says branch

manager Sam Salisbury. “The team we’ve put together here are truly amazing and are already a joy to be around. They’re all hungry to succeed and we can’t wait to welcome our new customers. We have a great location here on a new industrial estate, which has ambitious plans to expand in the coming years and I’m really excited to grow our team here.”

Browns Builders Merchants chooses Intact

Browns Builders Merchants, has taken on Intact’s merchant software.

Beesley & Fildes has opened a dedicated roofing centre at its Radcliffe branch near Manchester.

The new facility, which launched in April, is headed up by Beesley & Fildes’ roofing product manager, Steve Linacre, branch manager Mark Fox and in branch roofing expert Nick Ashe. Linacre said: “We’re truly excited about our latest venture because it’s completely new to Radcliffe and provides an ideal location for the entire area’s roofing trade. It’s a place where customers can instantly identify what they need and trust that every item offers premium quality and ease of use. The feedback from our customers has been great so far and this all points to a promising year that’s filled with huge sales potential.”

The decision to move to Intact was driven by Browns’ 14 to 15- year experience with their current ERP system, which had become bloated and inefficient, hindering operations, impeding growth, and causing staff frustration. Intact created a customised demonstration that showcased the full capabilities of Intact iQ. In particular, Intact tackled one of the biggest hurdles for Browns, managing intricate pricing structures for a national housing development with

variations.

Browns also saw the significance of Intact’s PIM integration with buying group NBG, which will allow Browns to access up-to-date codes, descriptions, and pricing updates directly from suppliers, eliminating the risk of selling below cost and ensuring accurate pricing across their product range.

multiple site locations. Their current system’s reliance on a single code per site caused pricing complexities and delays. Intact iQ will provide Browns with a more streamlined and effective method to accurately handle pricing

Managing director Jeremy Gear will remain in the business and work with Danny Spokes, managing director for IBMG’s Roofing Division, to ensure the business’ successful

integration into the Group. Gear said: “This is a great next step for us. IBMG is the perfect custodian for Roofing Gear and this acquisition opens up an exciting new chapter for us all. Roofing Gear has come a long way since it was first established in 2004, and now as an IBMG- owned merchant I am confident it will flourish even further. It has an amazing team of 11; a very loyal customer base, and our mission statement from day one - to provide our customers with

Additionally, implementing Intact’s integrated trade counter will enable Browns to provide a faster and more efficient experience for their customers, including trade cash accounts that were previously unavailable.
