7. James Latham shows off at Fitzwilliam James Latham has provided 450m2 of HONEXT for The Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge’s ‘Real Families: Stories of Change’ exhibition. The carbon- neutral fibreboard was used as the finishing material for the show’s temporary installations, replacing a large proportion of the painted MDF typically used for this purpose. The museum commissioned Shaun Ihejetoh of West Port Architects to develop a concept that would provide the perfect backdrop to a curated
selection of paintings, sculptures, and curios dating from the 1600s to the present day.

8. BPC Building Products launches new straps
BPC Building products has launched two engineered restraint straps, the VX and the HX; both have been designed to be paster to install and easier to handle than traditional restraint
straps. The VX restraint strap is a thin profile (1.2mm thick) strap suitable for vertical restraint applications, such as tying wall plates to masonry walls. The HX restraint strap is a thin profile (1.5mm thick) strap suitable for horizontal restraint applications, such as tying timber roofs and floors into masonry walls.
Because of their thin profiles, there is no need for notching during the installation process, which increases the speed and ease of installation.

Samac Fixings’ Performance Range now has new screw lengths: 6 x 220mm and 6 x 240mm. These new sizes are engineered to travel through the increased thickness of the latest insulation materials, ensuring compli- ance with the updated regulations while maintaining Samac's hallmark of quality and reliability.
The Performance Range’s extended screws
provide a more secure grip and penetrate the full depth of the insulation, offering proper support and preventing damage. Moreover, these longer screws distribute pressure more evenly across the insulation layer. This feature is critical for maintaining the stability of the insulation over time.

11. Grant UK’s Hybrid System Hub Grant UK’s hybrid heating range is now available with the launch of the EvoLink Hybrid System Hub; this wall-mounted, compact unit cleverly allows an Aerona heat pump to be combined with an existing fossil fuel heat source. With a maximum output to the heating system of 32kW, the EvoLink is suitable for installation with kerosene and HVO boilers, gas boilers, LPG boilers, electric boilers and modulating biomass boilers (with space heating outputs of up to 36kW). Featuring a simple control interface, the EvoLink is user-friendly for consumers while also incorporating sophisticated technology that is designed to manage the two heat sources, maximising the heat pump’s use and using the original boiler as a supplementary heater. With ‘comfort’ and ‘green’ operating modes, the EvoLink allows the end-user to select the mode that best meets their own personal preferences.
