7. Makita’s twin 18v brushless disc cutter Suitable for dry and wet cutting, the Twin 18V DCE090 Brushless Disc Cutter is Makita’s latest addition to its LXT range. The new cordless DCE090 Brushless Disc Cutter features a 36V brushless motor with a no-load speed of 6,600rpm and maximum cutting capacity of 88mm, and is powered by two 18V LXT Lithium-ion batteries. Makita’s Active Feedback Sensing Technology shuts down the current to the motor if the rotation speed suddenly slows, a soft start feature gradually increases speed to eliminate start-up shock, and a lock-off button prevents accidental start-up. With a fully loaded weight of just 6.3kg, it is easy to manoeuvre and includes a rubberised ergonomic, soft grip.

The SP045 multi adhesive from illbruck is suitable for everyday interiors, where a quick and strong bond is required. SP045 can also be used as an assembly aid for heavyweight fixing. Combining strength and flexibility, in an easy and controlled application,the product offers a good initial tack, while the adhesive is curing. This reduces the need for mechanical fixing or additional support during the curing process. A full bond then quickly occurs, with adhesive strength maintained after curing. With a primer-less adhesion on a broad range of construction materials, typical applications include the fixing and mounting of interior wall panels and coverings, skirting board, decorative edge, picture rails, door and floor trim, ceramic tiles and carpet grippers.

12. Evoke helps sharpen up Tynings Marley Alutec’s Evoke fascia, soffit and coping solution was specified to deliver a range of products, including a bespoke window trim solution, to update the dated façade of Tynings, a seafront property in North Devon. Originally built in the late 1960s overlooking Woolacombe Bay, the property’s coastal location is subject to increased wind exposure. The full refurbishment consisted of an internal and external upgrade. As part of the refurbishment, the existing windows were replaced with modern alternatives with narrower frames. This left a gap around the new frames, which required closing with a neat, colour matched trim solution to complement the window finish. In addition, matching Evoke fascia, soffits and coping were also installed on the façade, with further coping used around Tynings’ stone chimney.

9. Knightsbridge launches 6000K units Knightsbridge, the manufacturer of wiring devices, accessories and lighting, has bolstered its outdoor lighting range with a trio of LED floodlights in 6000K Daylight. Ideal for high- level security illumination in commercial, retail and domestic environments, the three floodlights come in 100W, 150W and 200W and 9200, 14100, and 18400 lumens respectively. These floodlights have die-cast aluminium casings, feature high output reflectors and are IP rated to IP65, which means they are not only dust protected, but can also withstand low pressure water jets (from a 6.3mm nozzle) from any direction. They also offer instant ignition, making them suitable for use with LED-compatible external sensors. The LED floodlights in 6000K Daylight are a perfect complement to the current LED floodlight range in 4000K Cool White, which otherwise share all the features and benefits of the new units.
