2024 TRENDS

In the radiant and vibrant colour palette, the digital world appears to merge with the physical – and reaches from warm tones like violet, intense solar yellow to glowing lava to cool  aqua and mineral tones. A shimmering cloud tone as well as deep grey and dark earth tones characterise the neutral component. Colour gradients, airbrush effects, glassy-transparent and blurry colours strengthen this effect. Strong materials such as wood, steel and stone, as well as shapes borrowed from nature, are deliberately brought together with futuristic elements. Rough and uneven surfaces are in the focus. In addition, conceptual fragrances like candles, diffusers or special room perfumes enrich this living theme just as much as visual phenomena created via innovatively interpreted LED technology – for example with luminaires that immerse an entire room in a veritable glow of colour.

SPIRIT OF CRAFT_bold + poetical Craft skills combine with a modern aesthetic, a clear personal touch and

durability. In addition, products and interior  are increasingly appreciated, as they are constantly adapting to our changing living circumstances. The extravagant colour palette combines a warm amber, brandy and chili tone with neutral grey and sepia as well as with cool lapis lazuli, glass green and turquoise. Diverse craft skills and almost forgotten materials and techniques give rise to objects with a quite unique style – for example, the combination of copper and hot enamel where the glass-like powder coating lends the material a striking look with amazing colours and unpredictable shades. Vintage pieces and motifs from manufacturers’ archives

are also rediscovered and artfully transformed into new designs. Ceramic is a key material with unimagined design possibilities. Especially with tableware and glass, hand-painted motifs and hand-worked structures emphasise their unique character. Textiles and rugs are reminiscent of objets d’art with elaborate  the products appear like large-format graphics, collages and reliefs.

Coloured glassware We’ve noticed coloured glassware is becoming incredibly popular with consumer looking to add pops of colour, mixing, and matching to achieve a contemporary look when designing their table scape. At Duralex® we have been integrating mass colour since 1961. Hillarys Parisian chic

With the 2024 Paris Olympics just around the corner I predict that French interior design will be a major trend in 2024, as all eyes will be on the French capital and its effortlessly chic style. French interior design blends timeless elegance with a touch of modern glamour seamlessly intertwining classic and contemporary. While neutral tones form the foundation of French-inspired interiors, the introduction of soft and faded colours adds depth and personality to the space. Embracing a muted palette of pastels and subdued tones, such as light green, French blue, pale pink, or lavender, creates a harmonious and inviting atmosphere.  combinations like blue and white or red and white.

Healing homes It’s not surprising that this trend is showing real longevity post pandemic, as spending more time at home highlighted that we deserve nothing less than a secure and comfortable environment to support our wellness. It’s important to recognise that we all take comfort from different colours but sensory shades like dusty pinks, lemons and lilacs hold therapeutic properties. These can be combined with darker tones to add playfulness and intrigue to your home. Also, spending time outdoors helps relieve stress and release feelings of happiness and positive wellbeing. Many of us simply can’t get out into nature every day but incorporating natural elements such as greenery and wood in your space can have a similar effect. There is an intrinsic warmth about wood that makes it a comforting addition to any space.
