Fiskars marks 50 years

Fiskars celebrated the 50th anniversary of its orange-handled scissors at the show. More than a billion pairs have been sold since 1967. The orange colour scheme came about purely by

accident. The first scissors were produced in the same factory that manufactured Fiskars juicers, where the orange colour was left in one of the machines by accident. When it came to the final vote to decide the colour of the handle, orange beat black by nine votes to seven.

GreenPan celebrates tenth anniversary

The Cookware Company commemorated the tenth anniversary of ceramic non-stick cookware brand GreenPan at Ambiente. The supplier is now onto its fifth generation of Thermolon ceramic non-stick coating: Infinity Professional. GreenPan is the brainchild of two Belgian school friends: Jan Helskens and Wim De

Veirman. Having discovered that traditional PTFE non-stick pans released toxins when overheated and used PFOA during the manufacture of the coating, they set out to create an alternative. After a long search, they found the material for their cookware range: a ceramic coating called Thermolon.
