against the unpleasant smells and pollution that could have potentially unsettled dozens of employees based inside the processing plant. To address the issue, Andr ews Ventilation was drafted in to c onduct a survey of the factory where it was discovered that the building had been

constructed without any reservation for air changes. The client was looking for a temporary fan hire arrangement that could remove vapours, dust and other harmful particles from working stations. In order to achieve the desired outcome, six high- powered ventilation fans were used to extract the contaminated air with similar units used to simultaneously provide clean air ducted in from outside the building. The equipment recommended was ideal for this project, as its low power consumption prevented operating costs from spiralling out of control despite the fact the fans were in constant use.

This short-term configuration was extremely successful in tackling the problem and instilled a much more desirable working environment within minutes of deployment.

While it’s probably more common to associate ventilation with extraction and removal procedures, there’s also plenty of scope for using high capacity fans as a cooling mechanism.Warehouses and factories generally have many openings and doorways which prevent the installation of typical air conditioning systems.

During summer 2018, the same client requested that Andr ews Ventilation provide a practical fan

air offering a welcoming and comfortable breeze during peak seasonal periods.

This particular project encapsulates the many facets of ventilation and underlines how many businesses rely on it as both an extraction and HVA C solution.

Confined spaces are rarely blessed with a good air quality which dictates the need for cleaner air to be supplied from an outdoor source. An efficient ventilation system will allow users to expel bacteria, chemicals and odours whilst replacing it concurrently. A ventilation setup will also enable flexible air regulation which would not be possible without a tangible system in place. It’s an often-overlooked fact that excessive volumes of fresh air can lead to higher energy bills, which is why controlled ventilation is so important .

It goes without saying, then, that damp conditions and condensation are to be avoided at all costs – and this can be achieved with good ventilation. Internal air pollution combined with a poorly ventilated application can contrive to cause a number of health problems, ranging from minor ailments to serious issues. No employee should have to suffer a headache or an allergy – never mind sinusitis or something similarly severe – as a result of a badly aerated workplace.
