HEAT PUMP GUIDE
Hamworthy launches new commercial heat pump
H
amworthy is launching its new commercial heat pump the Tyneham, which will be available in 6 outputs of up to 70kw with a further modular opportunity to cascade the heat pump to meet the required capacity of the building. The new commercial monobloc heat pump is highly effi cient with a COP rating of up to 4.85 and has a low impact on the environment using R32 refrigerant. Chris Caton, head of commercial product management has said: “With over £3.9billion of new funding targeti ng the decarbonisati on of heati ng, nearly half of this is focused on non- domesti c applicati ons across public buildings and with the development of heati ng networks it’s a really exciti ng ti me to be launching Hamworthy’s fi rst commercial heat pump range.” The Tyneham uses R32 refrigerant, a single
component refrigerant, meaning it is easier to reuse and to recycle with a much lower GWP
New for 2002 the
Hamworthy Tyneham Heat Pump range
will be available in 6 outputs and have a high effi ciency COP rating
of 675 which is two thirds less than R410A, this means that R32 refrigerant is a kinder refrigerant and will have minimal impact on global warming.
Modern heat pumps like the Tyneham can also be applied in buildings alongside other technologies including renewables like solar or wind and boost the renewable element of a project. The Tyneham can also work as a hybrid system, paired with the Hamworthy Wessex Modumax MK3 Low NOx for a low carbon hybrid heating system. The Tyneham can be cascaded up to 7 units
from one controller. All systems have inverter controlled compressors, to ensure effi ciency to actual heat demand. Hamworthy’s Product Selector tool will be
available on the website to enable customers to begin sizing the Tyneham heat pump for projects. Once a project details are inputted the
tool will provide options for single or cascade confi gurations to meet the requirement. Reaching net-zero and moving to renewable technologies is now a priority for everyone, Hamworthy’s long term vision is to continue to support its customers regardless of fuel source, and to ensure a collaborative approach to the energy transition.
