Pulse Roll Label Products partners with Addmaster to launch Biomaster protected PureSafe to British market

P

rinting ink specialist Pulse Roll Label Products Ltd has partnered with Addmaster (UK) Ltd to develop and launch PureSafe, a new range of antimicrobial varnishes and coatings formulated for the British label and package printing industry.

Now available to printers and converters in England, Scotland and Wales, PureSafe brings together the best of British manufacturing and innovation - high- quality coatings and varnishes from Pulse Roll Label Products, combined with Biomaster antimicrobial technology from Addmaster (UK) Ltd, a global leader in the supply of technically innovative, premium quality additives.

The PureSafe varnishes are suitable for non-direct food contact packaging applications and, with the addition of Biomaster, provide an effective antimicrobial finishing solution for labels and packaging.

Formulated for excellent adhesion and printability, with fast cure and high chemical resistance, the PureSafe UV flexo matt and gloss foil blockable and overprintable varnishes have been independently tested to ISO 22196 (the measurement of antibacterial activity on plastics and other non-porous surfaces). Pulse Roll Label Products managing director Gary Seward says: “Combining Biomaster additives with our high- performance UV flexo varnishes guarantees fast, effective antimicrobial protection for the lifetime of the label or package, keeping the printed surface hygienic and reducing the risk of cross-contamination. Biomaster can be safely added to varnishes and coatings without affecting the product’s properties, performance on press or the final aesthetic finish. At a time when we are all acutely aware of how easily germs and bacteria can spread, PureSafe with Biomaster can provide printed surface antimicrobial protection for consumer-packaged goods. We are delighted to introduce PureSafe

to the British market and be working with Addmaster’s Biomaster team who are recognised experts in antibacterial technology. We look forward to a long- lasting partnership”

Biomaster utilises silver ion technology which provides a release of silver ions on demand, safely inhibiting bacterial growth. It is proven to inhibit the growth of microbes by up to 99.99%.

The launch of PureSafe with Biomaster comes at a time when awareness surrounding good hygiene has been heightened worldwide and the demand for products that can reduce the risk of cross contamination has increased dramatically. Both British-based companies have experienced success winning the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade. Pulse Roll Label Products was awarded the accolade in 2015 and Addmaster in 2011 and 2018. More recently, Addmaster secured its first win in the Innovation category after using its technology to improve hygiene and preserve the environment by encouraging safer use of reusable products.
