Online visitor registration is now open as Labelexpo Europe 2017 gears up for its biggest edition to date. The four-day trade show returns to Brussels, September 25-28 showcasing the latest developments in the label printing market
T
his show is aimed at printers, brand owners, label, packaging and graphic designers; Labelexpo Europe is the largest all-inclusive
trade fair for label and package printing professionals. Creating a buzz of excitement within the industry, the show will cover a total of nine exhibition halls. Buyers attending the show will be able to sample the newest technology and next generation materials from 106 new exhibitors and Labelexpo regulars including: HP Indigo, Avery Dennison, BOBST, Codimag, Domino, Durst, EFI, Epson, Esko, Flint Group, FUJIFILM, Gallus, Konica Minolta, Mark Andy, MPS, Nilpeter, Omet, Ritrama, Screen Europe, SPGPrints, Sun Chemical, UPM Raflatac and Xeikon. A brand new feature: the Automation Arena will
make its debut. Showing two automated press lines for digital and conventional label production, the Automation Arena is a practical workshop where visitors will discover how information management, integrated workflow, production automation and robotics are all working towards changing the performance and economics of the label and package printing plant of the future. The Linerless Trail will return to this year’s show with a particular focus on in-house production and new materials. In

EDUCATIONAL MASTER CLASSES Led by Mike Fairley, founder of the Label Academy, the MIS and Automation Workflow master class will be held on Tuesday 26 September and feature presentations by sector experts. Attendees will learn how a joined-up approach to electronically managing an efficient and profitable twenty-first century operation is able to offer an integrated management information solution. Running on September 27, those signed up for the Shrink Sleeve Technology master class will hear about the latest in the area’s technology, markets and applications. Attendees will gain a understanding of design and origination requirements; find out about suitable shrinkable films; review printing processes and how to select them; gain appreciation of the latest converting technologies and specialised applications, and also find out about sleeve performance and quality
including troubleshooting and fault finding. Places are limited for both master classes which
cost €636 and are five hours long. Also scheduled for September 27, the
Inaugural Inks, Coatings and Varnishes workshop will show how inks, top and barrier coatings, primers and varnishes are being adapted and applied to modern narrow web converting operations using technologies such as flexo and offset. The four-hour workshop costs €535 and will
be presented by leading experts from the field of ink and coating technology.
AWA LABEL RELEASE LINER SEMINAR The established annual AWA Label Release Liner Seminar, now in its ninth year, is conveniently divided in two half-day afternoon sessions, taking place on September 26-27, one will cover trends and applications and the other will be devoted to sustainability and recycling issues. This is designed to enable participants to combine seminar attendance with ‘walking the show’, or simply, to attend the session that is of the most relevance . In addition to providing AWA’s yearly update on the global release liner market, with particular reference to pressure-sensitive labelling, it will feature speakers from leading companies and related industry associations across the value chain, bringing clarity to the issues in this sector of the label market. Both seminar sessions will end with early evening cocktails and networking.
