Labelexpo Europe 2017 Preview Hall 6
STARFOIL - STAND C19 Starfoil is the producer of hot-stamping and die- cutting presses, label
printing and vertical hot-stamping machines from A3 size to 750 x 1,060mm. As agent for Newfoil Machines, Starfoil will demonstrate a high-speed hot foil stamping Newfoil 2500 Servo machine for labels that features a complete revision of the electronic, control and mechanical systems. Integrated servo drives are now used to power all the dynamic functions of the machine, this can increase productivity by 100 per cent or more, with reduced operator input, quicker set-up, reduced waste, lower noise levels, data logging and much more. As a specialist in the hot-stamping machine
industry, Starfoil also produces high-quality spooling and slitting machines, suitable for hot stamping foil and various flexible packaging films. Widths of the machines vary from 400mm to 2,100mm and fall into a ProLine and ValueLine range to meet requirements and budget.
BST ELTROMAT - STAND E60 With a comprehensive range of products for quality assurance in label printing, BST eltromat is showcasing its worldwide position in the narrow- web market. The company will be exhibiting both new and proven solutions for web guiding, web monitoring, 100 per cent inspection, colour measurement and register control. They cover the entire range of requirements for the various print methods used to produce labels today. At its booth, the company will be exhibiting
both proven and new web guiding systems. They cover virtually all of the technical and economic requirements of the narrow-web market. For example, BST eltromat will be showing a CompactGuide with a CLS Pro 600 digital line and contrast sensor and a CompactGuide with a Wide Array sensor. With its wide field of vision, this sensor provides web
guiding options that begin where web edge sensors reach their limits, as in the case of alternating web widths, for example. Due to the sensors’ wide measuring range, manual adjustment is a thing of the past. The high-performance CompactGuide can be configured flexibly. In narrow-web printing, it is one of the most frequently used web guiding systems in the world.
MEECH - STAND C34 Meech will be displaying its web cleaning systems and Hyperion range of anti-static bars. It will be looking to highlight the ways these technologies can improve product quality in the labelling market. Adam Battrick, sales director, Meech, says: “Meech understands the challenges the labelling and
packaging industries face and Labelexpo gives us the opportunity to tackle these issues. We continue to develop our technologies and tailor them to suit our customers. It is our close collaboration with them that allows us to learn about the problems in the industry and offer a bespoke solution.” On display alongside the Hyperion range will be Meech's complete set of web cleaning systems, including the CycleanTM and TakCleanTM. The CyClean is a compact non-contact system designed to remove and extract contamination. Meech has optimised the cleaning efficiency of the CyClean to remove contamination to below one micron. It is best suited for high-speed presses and can handle virtually any substrate. As a result, with new ink jet printable webs becoming available, the system provides a future proof solution. The TakClean, a contact web cleaner employed within the label printing sector, features specifically formulated TransTak elastomer contact cleaning rollers and perforated adhesive rolls, which make it ideal for narrower and slower presses.

MARTIN AUTOMATIC - STAND A35 Martin Automatic will run
demonstrations of its MBS automatic splicer and the LRD automatic transfer rewinder in Brussels. The versatile LRD will be showing new optional features for the first time at Labelexpo 2017. The MBS splicer offers converters a fast ROI on
premium label, shrink sleeve, wrap-around label, tube laminate, pouch, and pharma packaging. It can handle exotic materials and different webs to produce a great variety of labelling solutions. The show machine will feature Martin’s laser assist tape alignment system for easy splice preparation. The LRD is a two-spindle transfer rewind that winds, changes, and automatically offloads rolls, without any need for carts or additional roll handling equipment. The unit at Labelexpo includes: a web guide and slitter package for inline slitting; a portability package for easy relocation between press lines; and an articulating arm to offload rolls through the front, if product rolls require special handling. The LRD rewinder accommodates 800mm diameter rolls in the standard model.
DOW AND DOW CORNING JOINT PREMIERE – STAND 7E35 Combining core strengths in R&D, technical support, industry expertise and worldwide geographic reach, Dow Adhesives and Dow Corning, the latter now part of the Dow Consumer Solutions business, will participate together for the first time at Labelexpo 2017. Dow will showcase its comprehensive portfolios of differentiated and high-value solutions for customers worldwide. Dow will use the theme ‘Innovation Inspired by You’ to present its advanced acrylic and silicon
adhesives, as well as silicone release coatings materials that address major trends and emerging needs in the pressure sensitive industry. The solutions to be featured offer converters and label stock producers the opportunity to optimise and accelerate solution design and time-to-market, access new attractive industry segments, and benefit from cost and sustainability advantages.
