Labelexpo Europe 2017 Preview Hall 8

HÖNLE – STAND A54 Hönle’s show highlight will be its new version of LED

Powerline Flexo. Solely air-cooled it has got an output of 25W/cm². This compact LED-UVsystem is suitable for curing highly reactive inks and was specially designed for flexo printing applications. It is available in the wavelengths 365, 385, 395 and 405 nm.

Also in the focus is the jetCURE product family comprising of IR, UV and LED-UV systems. Hönle

engineers have succeeded in further developing a well-tried curing system: the new jetCURE LED. The length of this UV-LED unit can be very well matched to applications by connecting single LED assemblies. High intensities greater than 16,000mW/cm² guarantee full cure within a split second and thus perfectly reliable results. Power control is possible between 15-100 per cent.

CRON – STAND B18 The HDI Flexo range, designed to provide

outstanding flexibility, is available in three formats: 600mm and 900mm for label applications, and 1,600mm for general packaging work. All HDI Flexo models are compatible with thermal film, digital polyester-back flexo and letterpress plates. Additionally, the HDI 600 features a clamping system, which makes it possible to image on a diverse range of media, including thermal offset plates and dry offset metal-backed plates. The HDI Flexo models offer low-cost solutions for a wide range of applications without compromising on quality. Three model variants allow users to fine tune production to their print requirements: ‘S’ variants have a maximum resolution of 5,080 dpi, while ‘S+’ and ‘H’ variants have a maximum resolution of 9,600 dpi. Cron’s digital plate imaging sets a new price- quality standard, bringing digital image control to Flexo and Letterpress plate imaging.

EPSON – STAND A50 Epson will show a comprehensive range of printers across its stand this year, which measures over 418sq metres. There will be short-to-medium run SurePress digital label press models alongside products from the ColorWorks and LabelWorks ranges and the SureColor SC-S Series. Show visitors will find a print solution to meet their needs: from in-house on-demand label

production to flexible high-quality digital presses for the most demanding label converters. “We are looking to showcase the widest digital label portfolio in the industry,” says Frank Maeder,

European labels product manager at Epson Europe. “We offer solutions from handheld label makers and tabletop label printers for in-house on-demand

label production to flexible high-quality digital presses. We pride ourselves in developing our own printheads and inks as well as hardware and this gives us the ability to tailor a solution for every application. Our experts will be on stand to give advice and direction to potential investors, whatever their requirements. In the digital press range, we will demonstrate both our UV technology and our flexible aqueous SurePress models, both using the Esko RIP. There will be a new press development at the show, but it is too early to reveal just what it is at this stage.”

Hall 11

LOMBARDI - STAND C53 Press demonstrations will be displayed at Lombardi’s stand, highlighting aspects such as the accuracy of the register, the rapidity of the job change

over, and indicators of the technological and quality standards achieved by Lombardi products. teh company will display three different printing machine configurations. Lombardi Converting Machinery is involved in the design and construction of modular flexographic

printing machines, equipped with standardised automation systems, configurable according to the specific needs of customers in constant search for solutions ranging from narrow web to mid web. In fact, each printing machine consists of interchangeable and separable modules at any time. ABS servo and ABS sleeve printing groups will be demonstrated, as well as important news such as Toro hot foil unit inline and Bravo flat screen unit inline modules that enable complex and valuable labels in a single process.

FFEI – STAND C18 Printbar Uncovered enables original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), of specialist labels and packaging systems, to respond to the growing need for digital embellishment. With FFEI’s inkjet integration expertise and proven inkjet technology, powered by Xaar, Printbar Uncovered presents a digital embellishment solution that can be taken to market by OEMs. It provides a competitive edge to customers, embodies brand values and complements existing portfolios. Printbar Uncovered utilises Xaar printheads and

Fujifilm Speciality Ink Systems (FSIS) approved UV inkjet inks, and can be mounted on a range of web-fed presses and finishing solutions. OEMs are able to tailor the covers and colour scheme, user interface, workflow, service and support packages and printhead configuration (for speed, laydown, web-width and fluid type). A wide variety of value adding embellishments are possible: spot varnish, cold foiling, rotary screen white replacement, variable data labels and haptic (high-build and texture) effects, which can all can boost profit margins on short run label and packaging jobs. ‘Out-of-the-box’ Printbar Uncovered technology can handle a wide range of inks and fluids, including spot colours (K or CMY), protective lacquers, high-build spot and tactile varnish, heavily pigmented high-opacity over- and under- whites and cold foil adhesives. OEMs can specify if they require a single or double laydown of a chosen ink or fluid, depending on the target application, for example a double hit high opacity white for rotary screen replacement. Alternatively OEMs can integrate with the

Digital Front Ends on their own equipment as a way to enhance the operator experience.

CAMIS – STAND A06 Global distributor Eurograv is pleased to announce that Camis (Milan) will unveil the Camis LabelMOUNTER Auto at the show. The Camis LabelMOUNTER Auto is an

automatic flexo plate mounting machine that can handle all types of formats up to 600mm wide. With a complete mounting time of around 60 seconds the LabelMOUNTER Auto provides complete control and precise registration, not just at the dots, but all the way around the sleeve. This mounting technology ensures that over the entire repeat length the plate is automatically monitored, aligned and applied to very high levels of accuracy. The Camis LabelMOUNTER Auto is an individual

technology platform for Flexo Print 4.0 and can work with all types of register marks as well as the RCC9 (Register Computer Control by LEHNER) Esko Smart Mark technology.
