PulPaper rescheduled to 2022, with virtual event this April

PulPaper will be rescheduled for spring 2022. The decision is due to the uncertainty caused by the pandemic situation and travel restrictions. This spring, however, a new online Virtual pre-PulPaper event is organized on Thursday, April 29, 2021.

PulPaper is the leading event within the forest industry, with exhibitors from 28 different countries and visitors from 50 countries in attendence last year. The success of the international event requires the opportunity for participants to travel freely. Although news of Covid-19 vaccinations is promising, the pandemic continues to have major impact on the ability of companies and visitors to prepare for the upcoming event. For this reason, organisers have decided to postpone the event by a year. PulPaper will open next at Messukeskus in Helsinki on March 29-30, 2022. The professional event in the chemical and bio sector ChemBio Finland and the chemical safety expert forum Helsinki Chemicals Forum will also take place at the same time. Meanwhile, a virtual meeting place will be hosted for companies and professionals in the field this spring. Virtual pre-PulPaper – towards 2022 will be organised online on Thursday April 29, 2021. The virtual pre-event is free of charge for visitors and scheduling takes into account participants following the programme globally in different time zones. Visitors can register at

    ABG installs 2,000th Vectra rewinder

A B Graphic International (ABG) has reached an impressive milestone in the global supply of its market-leading finishing solutions, by recently installing its 2,000th Vectra turret rewinder. The machine, a Vectra ECTR, was purchased by Cleveland, Ohio-based OMNI Systems, the largest, privately owned label converter in the US. The company began manufacturing turret rewinders in 1995 and its

entry-level ECTR 4, in 330mm, 430mm or 530mm web widths, has become the rewinder of choice for many self-adhesive label manufacturers. Perfect for increasing production speed and workflow efficiencies, the ECTR is also fully upgradable, with a wide range of options, including automatic core loading, finished roll closure with print and apply label application, and ABG’s own fleyeVision 100% camera inspection system.

As a long-standing customer of ABG, OMNI was initially looking for a turret rewinder that had the capability of running wound-in rolls along with eliminating tail tie gluing. They had seen the quality of the finished rolls from ABG’s rewinder equipment and have not looked back since. The company made their first order in March 2013 and currently own 16 Vectra ECTR rewinders; two that were ordered in July 2019, but only installed recently due to COVID-19.
