KG as a part of the Jagenberg Group Industrial Solutions sector. Kampf Schneid- & Wickeltechnik GmbH & Co. KG and Atlas Converting Equipment Ltd. provide future-proof machines and solutions with highest level of technology and extensive services for their global customers. The addition of the product ranges of both companies with their highly-qualified employees, as well as the clear positioning of the three renowned brands - Kampf, Atlas, and Titan - will further strengthen the joint innovative power and the variety of solutions.

Atlas Converting Equipment Ltd. was established in 1976 and is a world leading supplier and provider of solutions in slitting

and rewinding technology and finished roll handling systems.

The Atlas and Titan brands are represented in more than 83 countries around the world with over 3,600 machine installations and are recognised as market leaders in their chosen target markets. Kampf Schneid- und Wickeltechnik GmbH & Co. KG KAMPF is the world’s largest manufacturer of slitter rewinders and winders for demanding web-shaped materials. The company is based in Wiehl, near Cologne, and employs almost 700 people worldwide.

The export quota is more than 80% of the turnover. The company has subsidiaries in the USA, China and India as well as an international sales and service network.

Forum Packaging invests in increased capacity with new Expert CI flexo press


n line with its strategy of continuous improvement and development, UK paper bag and sack manufacturer, Forum Packaging has invested in a new Evolution CI flexo press.

Derbyshire-based packaging and converting machinery specialist, Optimation Ltd worked with Forum Packaging to select the bespoke press from Expert S.r.l., which features inline slitting and a shaftless unwind. Optimation director, Helen Mitchell comments: “Expert is renowned for their technical ability and their customer service. They manufacture some of the most technologically advanced flexo printing machines for the flexible materials sector and I had no hesitation in recommending their machinery engineered for Forum Packaging’s particular application.”

The 1.3m wide press has eight print units, plus a downstream unit for lacquer or other coating. It benefits from Expert’s automatic inking and washing system and doctor blade chambers with tool-less blade changing.

Automatic pressure and print register settings minimise waste material during job set-up. The 100% web view cameras enable the operator to see the whole print repeat whilst running the press at up to 500m/min.

Based in Horncastle, Forum Packaging prints and converts in excess of 60 million paper sack and bags every year. The company has a policy to ensure its manufacturing processes are as efficient, green and cost effective as possible. Managing director, Rob Massey says: “Alongside anticipated improvements in efficiency and productivity, our

team welcomes the increased capacity provided by the Expert machine. It which will enable us to approach new markets, whilst continuing to offer great service to existing clients.”
