Web Tension & Guiding

Emsur looks to Enprom to improve productivity

E

msur, the Spanish flexible packaging division of Grupo Lantero, has installed an Enprom 1400mm web width eS2T140 at its Polish plant. The nonstop double turret slitter rewinder is Emsur’s second Enprom investment recently, the first being an eRS2T3 to replace one of its existing sleeve machines at its Madrid plant. Bringing over 25 years’ experience in the development and manufacture of premium flexible packaging solutions for dairy, beverages, home and personal care, coffee and food products, Emsur has 9 production plants in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. With a reported 4.4% year-on- year uplift in the flexible packaging market, investment in technologically advanced solutions that add value and improve productivity is a key element of Emsur’s ongoing development strategy.

Enprom’s eS2T140 has a dual slitting system and includes an automatic double turret rewinder with reel loading output on the

support arm. Focusing on safety, ergonomic friendliness, speed and finished roll quality, the machine yields faster web speeds, minimises setup time for new jobs, reduces time for roll unloading between finished sets, streamlines roll packaging solutions and helps avoid unnecessary downtime.

“This machine includes an excellent tension control and web guide, achieving speeds of 600 mpm, accelerating and decelerating in less than 25 seconds,” says Enprom Solutions

flexible packaging expert Josep Orozco. “The eS2T140 is a machine prepared for two types of slitting; both circular and gillette knives. This offers the possibility of being able to slit different materials with high performance by adapting the slitting system in the same web path. Also, the turret system with automatic material unloading makes it possible to improve productivity with respect to existing slitters on the market, a performance that is maximised in the case of heavy reels, by always supporting the ends of the rewinder shafts.

Emsur chief technical officer Alejandro García adds: “The new Enprom slitter has been installed at Emsur Poland to improve our capacity to slit flexible packaging and shrink sleeve labels, while reinforcing safety in the production peaks of our dairy portfolio... With Enprom, we are confident that we have found the desired product.”

Erhardt+Leimer and Nireco sign cooperation agreement

he international Erhardt+Leimer group of companies with its Head Office near Augsburg, Germany and the Japanese long-established company Nireco with its Head Office in Tokyo signed a cooperation agreement in early February. In a first step, the new partnership is limited to selected industries, which are the printing, paper, film, hygiene and energy industries as well as battery, electronics and paper production. In future, these selected industries will be provided with Erhardt+Leimer sensors, controllers and drives for web guiding, web tension control and web monitoring via the sales channels of the Nireco Corporation.

T

It is the companies’ common goal to meet customer requirements in the Asian region, in particular in Japan, to an even greater extent than in the past by combining their core competences. For Erhardt+Leimer, the partnership

does not at all mean a new entry in the Japanese market. The business relations of the company date back to the 1980s when Erhardt+Leimer first started to sell its products via a cooperation partner. Later, in the year 2000, E+L founded its own subsidiary with its head office in Yokohama. The Japanese subsidiary remains an important component within the network of the E+L group of companies, but will focus more strongly on the industries not comprised by the cooperation agreement, which are the textiles, tire and rubber industries as well as corrugated cardboard production. “This new cooperation opens up enourmous possibilities for both companies. Those who know Japan and its high quality requirements for industrial products understand that combining the forces of Nireco and E+L will bring a strategic advantage in competition. Japan is one of the world’s biggest and most innovative national

economies – achieving a strong position and utmost customer satisfaction in the Japanese market must be an integral part of a globalised company’s corporate strategy”, emphasises Erhardt+Leimer group CEO Dr. Michael Proeller.

Erhardt+Leimer operates in various industries, including textiles, printing and film, paper, and the production of corrugated cardboard and batteries.
