Software that gets you where you need to go

customers. Here, software specialists elaborates on current challenges and their innovations which will benefit customers today and in the future
T
echnology continues to advance every day all around us. Ever more powerful. Ever more pervasive. In every aspect of our lives, including vending, OCS and micromarkets.
As technology specialists SB Software, makers of Vendmanager
and Coffeemanager, is focused on making these sectors better and is ever mindful of both the innovations and ongoing relevant trends, day-in, day-out. “It’s what we do. It’s our job to make the most of what is actually possible/beneficial now as well as anticipating the likely direction of travel - to be ready ahead of time for whatever comes next,” says managing director Simon Black. “Sometimes (nearly always?) after a sustained period of being “possible”, an innovation becomes suddenly “viable” or even “necessary”. The roots of that switchover can be varied. With two recent examples, the pandemic played a major part: “Cashless had been feasible for a long time before the massive
uptake (of contactless especially) we have seen over the last two years: it was an “overnight success” that was years in the making. “The ability to activate vending or OCS buttons from a short distance away without actually touching anything became suddenly
more relevant once users were all wearing masks and minimising contact with anything: you could still get a coffee! For vending/OCS operators, it was more about being able to incorporate relevant changes at the right time and then take advantage of them efficiently and apace - for the benefit of their own clients and users.
