West Midlands charities awarded £10,000 from The Cadbury Foundation

Two local charities have been given a major boost thanks to a £10,000 donation from The Cadbury Foundation, made possible by the support of Mondelēz International employees from across the West Midlands. Tay’s Tribe (supporting Brain Tumour

Research) and Tudor Grange Academies Trust were among 12 charities chosen to receive a £5,000 donation from The Cadbury Foundation, as part of its annual ‘Your Charity Your Choice’ programme. Each year, Mondelēz International employees from across the country are invited to put forward wellbeing-focused charities or projects that are close to their heart, with a selection of organisations receiving a generous grant. Last year saw The Cadbury Foundation reach a significant milestone, with more than £1 million donated to support local communities since the programme began. Wayne Hand, stock and admin specialist at Mondelēz International’s site in Minworth, nominated Tudor Grange Academies Trust to receive a £5,000 grant, enabling the charity to continue its work

ensuring equal access to high quality education across the Midlands. Tay’s Tribe, a leading fundraising group

for Brain Tumour Research set up in memory of six-year-old Taylan Kurtul to champion the fight against brain tumours, was also among the charities to receive a £5,000 donation, and was chosen by Sarah Faulkes, supply planning implementation manager at the Mondelēz International site in Bournville. Sarah commented: “Tay’s Tribe does so much fantastic work advocating for sustainable brain tumour research and organising fundraising opportunities to support families facing difficult diagnoses, and I know this generous grant will have an incredibly positive impact. “I’m delighted that my nomination was

backed by my colleagues, and to know that the donation will help the wider charity continue to deliver its fantastic services.” Ashley McWilliams, community development manager at Brain Tumour Research, said: “We are extremely grateful to The Cadbury Foundation for this significant

donation to Tay’s Tribe, which will bring hope to the families affected by brain tumours we work with, allowing us to continue to fund vital research to improve outcomes for patients suffering from brain tumours. “At Brain Tumour Research, we’re proud

to be a leading voice in the fight against brain tumours, and to be honouring Taylan and keeping his name alive. Thanks to this grant, we can keep making that possible.”
