Finding the winners in an exclusive line up of innovative products is never an easy judge, and this year’s judges will have their work cut out for them.


Judging The Vendies this year will be:


PHILLIPA ATKINSON-CLOW, General Manager – Water Dispenser & Hydration Association (WHA) Phillipa is General Manager of the recently formed WHA (Water- Dispenser & Hydration Association). She worked with the British Water Cooler Association for 27 years. She is a Board Member of the Institute of Association Leadership and provides organisational and management services to Watercoolers Europe.


ERWIN WETZEL, the Director General – European Vending & Coffee Service Association (EVA) Erwin Wetzel joined the European Vending & Coffee Service Association in 2011 and became the Director General in 2014. In his current role he coordinates several committees and working groups inside the organisation and has acquired over the last years a thorough knowledge about the vending industry across Europe. He knows very well the industry trends


and the specificities of the different markets, which allows him to promote efficiently the interests of his members vis-à-vis stakeholders and authorities. His background is political science and EU Affairs.


EMMA REDFORD, marketing director of H2O Direct Emma is an experienced marketing director with a demonstrated and successful history of working in the food & beverages industry. Previous roles include working for the Daily Mail General Trust Group overseeing product management for several B2B publications international exhibitions for a total of eight years. She was later employed by Divine Water in its finance department. Currently


Emma is employed as marketing and events director for H2O Direct, the family owned and operated company based in East Sussex.


Vendex show director PHIL REYNOLDS Phil Reynolds has been actively involved in the vending industry for almost 30 years. Having launched a vending magazine (Auto Vending) which he published for 20 years he became involved in various other industry initiatives. These included forming the European Vending Press Association in 1993 together with the leading publishers in France, Spain, Germany and Italy; Spring Cruises for Classic and Sports Car enthusiasts; the inaugural Vending


Innovation Awards in 2001; and arranging go-karting days to bring the industry together. Since 2003 he has been running the successful vending show Vendex.


Vending specialist and consultant JONATHAN HILDER Jonathan Hilder started his working life with Coutts Bank and then moved into instalment credit working with the likes of Barclays Mercantile, Rothchilds, Schroders and Siemens where he specialised in working with the vending Industry. He was responsible for funding over £200m of vending equipment. He went on to consult in vending businesses in Eastern Europe, Israel and Brazil. He spent five years as the CEO of the Automatic Vending Association. Since leaving Jonathan has been running his own professional


photography business working in events, real estate and weddings. He continues to have an interest in the vending industry and the development of this market.


Vending specialist BRIAN TUSTAIN Brian joined Cadbury Typhoo based in Bournville, Birmingham in 1976 as a sales trainee before moving to become senior account manager for the newly established vending ingredients division, which eventually became Premier Brands. After a short spell running a motor dealership and becoming a candidate for the Conservative Party, Brian was head hunted to become CEO of the AVS joining in 1993. He spent 18 successful years at the helm of AVS and served as a


board member of the AVA and the EVA, representing the vending industry at the highest level, until he took semi-retirement in 2011. Today, Brian is an advisor to several vending companies and is the current regional chairman of the Conservative Party in the West Midlands.
