NEWS | Industry Events VendExpo 2020: a key vending
event in Russia An annual exhibition of vending technologies and self-service systems will be held at Expocentre in Moscow from March 25-27, with more than 10,000 visitors and 80 exhibitors expected. This year, for the first time, the international competition for
innovations in vending and self-service systems ‘The VASA Award’ (Vending & Automated Services Award) will take place. The jury includes: Russian National Vending Association president
Boris Belotserkovsky, president of the Union of Operators Egor Spivakovsky, the director general of the European Vending & Coffee Service Association Erwin Wetzel, general director of Hostelvending magazine Alvaro de Laguno Goria, and director of innovations at X5 Retail Group Ivan Melnik. Fifteen companies are already participating in the competition in
the categories of technical devices, technical solutions, ingredients and supplies.
The exhibition will also host
an international business forum, which will cover topics such as: current realities and prospects of vending in Russia and in the world, payment solutions, the introduction of self-service systems in retail and services, vending business for beginners and much more.

Paper Cup Recovery and Recycling Group Plenary
Event 2020 Paper cup recovery and recycling has been transformed in the UK in the past few years with more than 4,800 cup recycling points, over 20 waste operators providing cup collection services and new high street collection schemes for cups. However, the Paper Cup and Recovery and Recycling
Group (PCRRG) recognises that much more remains to be done to achieve a fully circular and sustainable system. The group’s 2020 plenary session, held on March 12, 2020
in London, will highlight what the future holds for sustainable cup supply chains and identify how industry can respond to future pressures and opportunities. The event will include: • A keynote speaker. • Interactive chair-led panel debates from PCRRG members and guest speakers from across the industry.
• Focussed discussions with the opportunity for all attendees to input into shaping the PCRRG going forward.
The event is open to both PCRRG members and people
and organisations that can help to deliver or influence paper cup recovery and recycling.
