ith the IER Awards happening soon,
it will be fabulous to catch up with many ‘old’ friends and meet new ones as we applaud
all the fi nalists. Whilst winning is a great accolade, being a fi nalist still carries a respected kudos of which ultimately helps to promote the quality of your business, staff and products, as recognised by peers of the industry so Well Done to one and all for reaching this fi nal stage. The IER Team have been extremely fortunate
to meet with many since the last IER Spring issue, with onsite visits, attendance at trade shows and trade conferences. As such, there is an abundance of information throughout the 50+ pages of this summer issue. It was an absolute pleasure to meet many retailers and exhibitors at the Euronics Showcase, including CIH buying group’s new CEO, Harry Kyriacou who gave us the opportunity for a Q&A session. See page 8.
A member of the IER Team was also fortunate
to attend the Sirius conference in Tenerife, being able to present a special recognition award to a retiring Sirius member as reported on page 5.

Summer 2025 PEOPLE MAKE THE DIFFERENCE 16 In our endeavour to continue gathering
relevant information and share accordingly, we all recently visited the Exclusively Show at the Business Design Centre in London meeting several SDA companies presenting a host of new products of which we will be uploading on IER Daily in the coming days and weeks. It was also interesting to view the housewares exhibitors whose products complement the MDA, SDA, Kitchen reseller, yet it appears these somewhat profi table extras are only sold in the kitchen accessories stores. We know some retailers who use ‘ancillary products’ to be competitive. Maybe there is an opportunity to stock and sell such accessories and off er to consumers a ‘package’ of which can’t be compared with online only resellers? Maybe a set of new pans to sit on the latest induction hob? Just a thought. Another IER special on pages 22 & 23, was a Q&A with Lee Sawford, Sales Director at Apelson who speaks about the future opportunities for the independent retailer with the CATA brand. Finally, on behalf of the IER team, we look
forward to seeing you at the forthcoming IER Awards on the 4th July in London. All the very best for now.
