onsumers are looking for products that will do more for them and


manufacturers have risen to that challenge; the floorcare category is full of innovation, all of which is demonstrable on the shop floor. George Douglas, category manager, homecare at BSH Home Appliances, says that floorcare has performed well for the business and it has seen its market share double in this category over the past three months. “We’re looking forward to continuing to


grow in the coming months,” Mr Douglas says. “Multi-use models are an increasing priority. For example, the new Bosch BCS71PETGB Unlimited 7 ProAnimal vacuum cleaner features a Flex Tube that bends 90 degrees, enabling users to clean under low furniture without bending down. “And with the Nozzle Foot Release, users can easily detach the nozzle from the tube and replace it with a number of other attachments, including a 2-in-1 furniture brush and upholstery nozzle, mattress nozzle, and keyboard and drawer nozzle.” Witt UK & Ireland says ROIDMI sales are doing


well on the strength of Euronics taking on the ROIDMI brand late last year. Geoff Johnson, Witt UK & Ireland’s sales director,


says: “We are still encouraging members to take up the wide range of stock – seven models - and the accessories we have for the brand, and we remain one of the few major floorcare players that do not sell directly to the consumer.” Mr Johnson says that dual-purpose cordless vacuum and wet mopping machines took off last year after taking a while to build consumer confidence in the UK. “The dual-purpose ROIDMI RS40 has been


around since 2020 but is only now making its mark in the floorcare sector,” Mr Johnson says. “With more homes than ever in the UK having a mix of hard floors and carpets throughout the
