IFA 2024 attracts more than 215,000 visitors T
he 100th anniversary edition of IFA Berlin attracted more than 215,000
visitors, including more than 133,000 trade visitors, from 138 countries, in an event packed with innovation and entertainment. More than 1,800 exhibitors showed off
cutting-edge innovation in consumer electronics and home appliances. Artificial intelligence, sustainability and digital health were among the major themes of the show this year. The show also featured panels and speeches
from 150 speakers, including keynotes from Dr Reinhard Zinkann, Executive Director and Co- Proprietor of the Miele Group; Mark Barrocas, CEO of SharkNinja; Dr Karsten Wildberger, CEO of MediaMarktSaturn; and the acclaimed singer, actress and philanthropist Nicole Scherzinger. With attendance up 18 percent from last
year, IFA saw a surge in visitors from the United States, Italy, France, Poland, Korea and the United Kingdom.

LG opened a new chapter in connected living with ThinQ ON LG unveiled its ThinQ ON Ai home hub. Harnessing the power of ‘Affectionate Intelligence’ the home hub tailors home appliances and the Internet of Things (IoT) devices to users’ diverse life-styles, continuously learning from their usage patterns. Powered by LG Ai Agent, FURON, the LG ThinQ ON includes an Ai voice assistant that allows users to control their appliances and
IoT devices through natural conversations. LG’s range of other products including its infamous reputation of high-quality OLED TVs created crowds to adorn both amazing picture quality with style.
New French door fridge-freezers from Liebherr With its new French door appliances, Liebherr provides generous storage space, sophisticated freshness technologies, high quality materials and stylish lighting. The elegant and spacious fridge-freezers have a height of 108.5cm, a width of 96.2cm and a depth of 62cm. The BioFresh technology keeps fruit and vegetables fresh longer while the Liebherr French door models also boast glass and steel interiors and elegant colour combinations. The MoodLight feature stylishly highlights both the appliances’ Water & Ice centre and its recessed handles. Available in three series within two versions, the appliances offer several versatile options to meet users’ specific needs. Their key selling points are, Large storage capacity; High Quality materials; Outstanding design with an innovative lighting concept.
MIDEA presented ‘game changing’ indoor hybrid heat pump The Midea Group has taken the shift toward heat pumps a step further. The company’s CirQHP Indoor Hybrid Heat Pump is compact and adaptable, plus, forgoes the need for users to install a potentially noisy, space consuming outdoor unit. According to Midea, heat pumps are the future of heating and the reasons are apparent: by harnessing the energy already present in the ambient air. Heat pumps are more efficient than conventional heating systems making them environmentally friendly without compromising on comfort. With a heating capacity of 4.5kW, the heat pump
operates in weather as cold as -20C and offers an energy efficiency class of A++ in heating. It’s a hybrid system, meaning that it can be connected to different types of gas boilers, both existing and new, using traditional ON/OFF and modern high efficiency Opentherm communication protocols. And the cherry on the top? The unit is
attractively priced compared to conventional ATW heat pumps due to its compact design and indoor installation.
A futuristic solution for a globalised world? Experiencing the demonstration of this device was amazing and the market potential is vast. Making its Premier, the world’s first multi- language X1 Ai Interpreter Hub. Produced by the company, Timekettle, founder and CEO Leal Tian spoke passionately about the benefits of in-ear live translation, allowing for eye contact and physical interaction possible due to near instantaneous translation (0.2sec response time). Listening to spoken Chinese by the person opposite me with near immediate translation, and vice-versa, the conversation flow was amazing. Supporting 40 languages, with 93 accents, this product with its translation buds is a must to look out for.
