n this issue, we explore the launch of the new “Elec Safety Pro” channels, a look ahead to the annual Electrical Product Safety Conference and introduce our new ACE Learning Lounge which provides free expert training for electrotechnical apprentices. What is ‘Elec Safety Pro?’ What are the New Channels for Electrical Professionals? Electrical Safety First has launched new
professional social media channels, “Elec Safety Pro” to address the growing demand for industry-specific resources. The new channels are launching across all major platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X (formally known as Twitter), TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn. They will be a go-to resource for professionals seeking the latest safe working practices, regulatory updates and educational content. Interest in the charity’s renowned Best Practice Guides has doubled from January to August 2024 compared to the same period last year, with nearly 37,000 downloads. In response, the Elec Safety Pro channels will serve as a key platform to promote these guides, which provide authoritative information on a range of technical subjects, developed in collaboration with 20 leading industry bodies. The channels will feature a variety of video
content, including deep dives into BS7671 Amendments and an ‘All you need to know’ guide to the Wiring Regulations Advisory Group (WRAG). Electrical Safety First will also curate tailored content for electricians, including an exclusive Masterclass on Safe Isolation. The channels will provide updates on Electrical
Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), coverage of industry-led events, and practical ‘how-to’ videos, making it easier for busy professionals to stay informed.
Launching on 2 October 2024, these channels will sit separately from Electrical Safety First’s main social media accounts, which will now primarily focus on consumer issues. The new channels will enable direct engagement with professionals, delivering content and insights relevant to their sector. “We’re launching dedicated social media channels for electrotechnical professionals, which will highlight tools, events and explainers of new
