Aico launches National Apprentice of the Year
A
ico’s National Apprentice of the Year award scheme was established to recognise outstanding apprentices who not only have good technical skills, but are role models for others in the industry. The electrical professionals of tomorrow are so important to our industry, and we aim to highlight and celebrate their success.
The competition can be entered by an electrical apprentice currently enrolled on an apprenticeship scheme. A representative like a college or company may also assist the
apprentice with the application. This is open to apprentices UK-wide. Entries should be submitted by 1 January 2024. Each entry will be judged, and a shortlist will be created with the fi nalists announced on 19 January 2024. From the entries, 12 selected nominees will be asked to attend the JTL training centre in Birmingham for a practical assessment day. Each candidate that makes it to this stage will receive a state-of-the-art toolkit packed with all the tools an electrician would need. The top six candidates concluding this stage will be invited to the Aico Community Awards Ceremony, where the winner will be announced in front of a packed industry audience. More information on entering is available at
