The workforce of the future N

ational Apprenticeship Week, which takes place every year in February, provides a fantastic opportunity to highlight the positive impact that apprenticeship qualifi cations have on local communities, employers and the industries they operate in.

To meet the changing needs of our buildings in this new landscape of net zero targets and energy effi ciency, we will need a skilled, driven and diverse workforce. Apprenticeships, which give people ways to change career paths as well as supporting those at the start of their careers, are a key part of achieving this. This month, it was great to hear from leading apprenticeship provider JTL, who shared some insight from two of its former apprentices. On page 26, you can read details of their roles as newly-qualifi ed electricians, off ering an insight into the wide variety of career path opportunities that an apprenticeship qualifi cation can provide.

Plus, as always, we share our usual news, views, products and installations from market-leading businesses across the sector, including a great piece from Vent-Axia’s Natasha King on the trends that are driving ventilation sales for electrical wholesalers in 2024 (page 30).
