Light + Building 2024 L

Light + Building announces increased exhibitor numbers.

ight + Building, the leading trade fair for lighting and building-services technology, is set to open its doors from

3 to 8 March 2024.

So far, over 2,130 companies have registered to present innovative solutions and trends at the event, which will take place at Messe Frankfurt. “With just a few weeks to go before the doors open, we can report a powerful final spurt with a good 130 exhibitor registrations having been received since the end of last year. This represents another positive boost for the final stages until the trade fair begins,” commented a delighted Johannes Möller, director of Light + Building. After Germany, the majority of exhibitors come from Italy, China, Turkey, Spain, Poland, Austria, the Netherlands, Great Britain, France and Greece.

Smart showcase

The Light + Building trade fair will cover the full range of product sectors, from intelligent lighting technology to future-oriented home and building- services technology.

Numerous in-show events mean visitors will have no shortage of inspiration and information. At the Design Plaza in Hall 3.1, everything revolves around lighting, architecture and design.

In close thematic proximity to home and building automation, as well as electrical engineering, the Building Plaza in Hall 9.0, the ZVEI Technology Forum in Hall 12.1 and the ZVEH E-House in Hall 11.0 offer a great opportunity for knowledge transfer. Guided tours on selected subjects are available.

Exploring climate protection The organisers of Light + Building believe that the energy transition in the building sector will make a decisive contribution to achieving climate protection goals. Whether energy supply or energy management, the basis for the future of energy use is the electrification of houses, buildings and urban infrastructure.

“The three themes identified for the show will be Sustainability, Connectivity and Work + Living.”

The motto of Light + Building 2024, therefore, is ‘Be electrified’. Based on this, the three themes identified for the show will be Sustainability, Connectivity and Work + Living. The ‘sustainability’ theme revolves around systems and approaches that contribute to making the building sector more economically and environmentally viable - for example, the integration and storage of green energy and efficient energy management. Sustainability also plays an important role in both the materials used and the manufacturing process. The show’s ‘connectivity’ theme also links to the efficient use of resources. Electrification and digitalisation are the basis for successfully interconnecting the various aspects of the smart home and the smart building. The collection and

storage of data makes it possible to control and maintain the functions of a building efficiently during their use, resulting in a higher level of comfort and greater home safety and security. The final theme, ‘work + living’, deals with the changing demands of mobility and of where we live and work. Whether working remotely from home or using meeting rooms in a designated workplace, tomorrow’s smart home and smart buildings are planned to make both work and living possible.

A special focus at the show will be placed on the topic of light and lighting in all its facets. Innovative technology is combined with trend-setting design for more comfort. The themes of Sustainability, Connectivity and Work + Living all influence the design of luminaires, as well as other design elements in the buildings of today. www.light-building.messefrankfurt.com
