cable spooling solution Super Rod is encouraging electrical installers to work smarter by packing a Cable Jack in their tool bag, for an instant cable spooling solution on the go. Super Rod’s innovative Cable Jack is a spooling device which can support up to 35kg of weight, yet compacts down to fit into one 45cm packaging tube. The Cable Jack is supplied with the packaging tube, two aluminium collars and four fibre glass legs which are easily assembled into an A-frame; simply slide the collars onto the 44mm diameter tube, add the cable roll and finish by screwing the legs into the collars. The cable roll is now lifted off the ground and able to turn freely. Ideal for small domestic jobs, the Cable Jack can also be
adapted for bigger jobs where more than one cable roll needs spooling. New hygienic cable protection systems from Flexicon
Flexicon has launched eight flexible conduit ranges and hygienic fittings to make cable installations faster, simpler and safer for applications requiring strict hygiene, such as in the food, pharmaceutical and medical industries. The new conduits feature a smooth outer cover manufactured from FDA approved ingredients, independently tested to European Food regulation 10/2011. All conduits are compatible with Flexicon’s stainless steel hygienic fittings.
The hygienic grade stainless steel (Grade 316L) fittings have been
designed to Food Processing Machinery design Standards EN 1672-2, and Safety of Machinery – Hygiene requirements for the design of machinery EN ISO 14159.
Each fitting incorporates seals to prevent food and bacteria ingress. Smooth surfaces prevent food or bacterial build-up and there are 16mm to 63mm options in straight metric thread derivatives. When used with one of the hygienic range of conduits, the cable protection system offers Ingress performance of IP66, IP67, IP68 (2Bar) and IP69. The conduits in the hygienic ranges all have a smooth cover for easy cleaning, are flexible for simple routing and/or dynamic installations and have a reinforced construction for good compression strength. The non metallic version offers a temperature range of -20° to +90° and the metallic offer has a temperature range of -20° to +105°.
