New “Net Zero ready” warehouse facility for Ovia


S


colmore Group company Ovia has moved its warehouse and distribution


centre from its original site in Tamworth Staffordshire to a new, increased-capacity premises in nearby Appleby Magna. As the lighting division continues to expand, the new 51,000 sq ft site will not only accommodate an increased number of products, but will play a role in helping the company, and Scolmore Group as a whole, to manage its sustainability targets.


The new warehouse unit has been constructed to the highest levels of specification and sustainability and is Net Zero ready, BREEAM Excellent and EPC A-rated. The new premises also benefits from solar panels on the roof and ten active EV parking spaces, with passive infrastructure in place for a further 32 and storage for up to 12 cycles. The relocation of the Ovia warehouse facility is freeing up the original site for the growth and expansion of other divisions within the Scolmore Group.


Collingwood publishes lighting design guide for offices

ollingwood Lighting has produced a lighting design guide for offices to help


electricians win more commercial lighting business this winter. Andrew Fairhurst, sales director at


Collingwood, said: “It’s now over a year since the ban on manufacturing fluorescents, which means there will be lots of offices refurbishing their lighting and installing modern LED luminaires over the next few months.”

Eurovent to host IAQmatters conference in London

rade association Eurovent will hold its IAQmatters conference


on 22 January 2025 at the Institute of Engineering Technology (IET) in London.


The conference is designed to probe the link between Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) in educational buildings and the health, wellbeing and educational outcomes of students.


Organised in partnership with the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) and the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), the conference will explore ways to improve the achievement and wellbeing of children and adults in education, reflecting on how to turn research findings into practical, real-life solutions.


The event will bring together a diverse line-up of speakers to explore the topic in depth. More information about the speakers and programme will follow soon.
