K electrical wholesaler CEF is bringing the third series of its popular TechTalks to 24 locations across the UK. The free and informative technical seminars aim to educate trade professionals by including the latest news and regulations with CPD- accredited training.
In partnership with the Institute of Engineering and Technology, the new series will plug into current industry trends, with seminar topics including the electrifi cation of heat, thermal imaging, safe isolation and DC system safety. At the end of each TechTalk, the CEF Renewables

team will off er a Q&A, designed to help tradespeople looking to expand their knowledge, and businesses, into the renewables market. Alongside the seminars, trade professionals will receive a CPD certifi cate, a pack of TechCards which act as a handy reference to the seminar topics and the chance to connect with over 20 supplier brands. Attendees can slso view and trial a range of CEF supplier’s latest products and innovations.
Entrance is free to the events, and complimentary breakfast and refreshments are served.
Kidde Europe launches fi re safety campaign K
idde Europe’s new Cause for Alarm campaign was created in response to the statistics that fatal house fi res disproportionately aff ect some communities more than others.
Children under the age of
fi ve are at the greatest risk of fi re-related deaths, making up almost 50% of fi re deaths among children aged 16 and under.
Kidde recognises the need for a creative approach to engage and educate children and their families, and has introduced the Cause For Alarm jingle, a catchy tune that helps children and parents remember what to do when a fi re alarm sounds - “Beeps that last, Get out fast.” The campaign emphasises the importance of selecting the right fi re safety products
and creating - and importantly practising - a family escape plan, where children understand what to do if they hear an alarm sound, as these are fundamental in the battle against fi re hazards. Despite a considerable percentage of households owning functional smoke alarms, a concerning 21% of those surveyed admitted to never testing them.
