reenBrook Electrical, the leading manufacturer of the Norslo First Fix range, has announced its exclusive UK distribution partnership with Tillex Cable Management, a Danish company established in 1954, renowned for manufacturing a quality, innovative range of clips and plugs. This collaboration marks a new exciting opportunity to off er these unique electrical fi xing products to customers in the UK. The partnership will combine GreenBrook’s established wholesale customer base with Tillex’s extensive experience in manufacturing environmentally friendly and functional products, providing contractors with a range that enhances their productivity and ensures peace of mind for their installation. The quality of these items is clear to see and feel upon inspection, and GreenBrook is sure contractors will find them superior to other fixings currently available.
In the world of construction, renovation, and DIY projects, the choice of fixings can significantly impact the overall quality and longevity of the installation. Whether you are building a new structure or making improvements to an existing one, the decision between high-quality fixings and their cheaper counterparts is a critical one. There is a huge offering of “cheap and cheerful” fixings in the market, most of which can be found in the toolboxes of every tradesman in the UK. These do not always offer the most reliable fixtures as they can break on installation or loosen in the wall. Although high-quality fixings have a higher upfront cost, they prove to be more cost-effective
in the long run as cheaper fixings may lead to frequent replacements and repairs, ultimately costing more - confirming the old adage of “buy cheap, buy twice”!
Tillex manufactures products that are faster and easier to install, whilst improving performance through durability, reliability and greater resistance against breakages.
BS8539:2012 is the Code of Practice for the selection and installation of post-installed anchors in concrete and masonry. Tillex can help you to conform to this standard by providing technical support to ensure the correct fixing selection. Whether it’s plugs, screws or plasterboard fixings, investing in Tillex means you can trust that they will deliver consistent and reliable results. In our industry - when installing heavy overhead light fittings or expensive items like televisions and security cameras, no-one wants to be worrying that a fixture will not hold!
The plugs in the Tillex range are made of strong Nylon or Polyethylene, so they won’t crush, go brittle, snap or fall to pieces after installation. These 100% recycled plugs, which use the Tillex/ Thorsman colour coding for easy reference, ensure
the safety of your installation as they have a high load bearing capacity and offer secure grip and anchoring features. Tillex plugs are dual expanding and are suitable for wall, concrete, light-weight concrete, stone and cavity installations. The collar and winged design prevents the plug from rotating and disappearing down into the drill hole. Another example of Tillex innovations is the screwed cable clip – fitted with the option of either a T20 or PH2 screw head, they can be installed with the appropriate drill bit and don’t need to be finished with a screwdriver. These are ideal for the quick fitting of cable into concrete, plasterboard and metal joists. The screws used are highly corrosion resistant (Classed C4) for use in areas with high air humidity and high atmospheric pollution – so could easily be used on roofs when installing solar panels or satellite cable. You can be sure of the quality of these clips as soon as you see them, confirming that unnecessary breakages would be practically non-existent.
The final product we will mention is the Stella plug which is a unique heavy duty product with a metal nut fitted into the tip of the plug. When the screw engages the nut, the plug is contracted to form a star-shaped knot behind the board, inside the cavity. This makes the fitting extremely secure especially for radiators or heavy fittings that could be mounted overhead.
All Tillex products are supplied in handy, resealable boxes that stop the items from spilling out. Every contractor will agree, the packaging on some products falls apart - leaving clips all over the floor of the van. Sometimes it’s the simple things that make a whole lot of difference.
