EIC Update
Mental health awareness courses for apprentices
JTL, one of the leading apprenticeship providers in the building services engineering sector in England and Wales, has supported Electrical Industries Charity (EIC) to develop its new online learning platform: Mental Health for All; Training for mental health well-being.
R
ecognising the impact that mental health concerns can have on those working in the electrical industry, EIC has launched a free online learning platform offering a wide variety of mental health training courses and live interactive webinars. All courses are designed to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively navigate mental health challenges, both personally and professionally.
During the building of the platform, JTL has supported EIC with scripting some of the courses and resources and contributed towards the development costs. Staff and apprentices from JTL were also involved in the national pilot phase to provide invaluable feedback that has helped shape the platform.
The new platform is accessible online, allowing convenient mobile access to resources that provide essential skills for managing stress and offer help to those in need.
Rachel Jagger-Thomas, diversity, safeguarding and inclusion advisor at JTL, commented: “Providing mental health and well-being support for our apprentices and the employers we place them with is a vital part of what we offer at JTL. As such, we are always looking for ways to promote mental health awareness and by partnering with Electrical Industries Charity, we have been able to help develop a range of resources to support all our apprentices and employers working within the electrical sector, as well as the wider construction industry.”

Leading from within
Month-Long Team Challenges Kate and Dan, employees at the Electrical Industries Charity, took on a month-long challenge in November that not only pushed their limits but also sent a powerful message to the charity’s audience: dedication starts from within.
K
ate took on the monumental task of completing 1000 burpees within the month, while Dan set himself the challenge of running 100km over the month. Both challenges show endurance and unwavering determination. Their effort highlights their unwavering commitment to the charity’s cause, just as the charity stands by those in the electrical industries in their time of need.
Kate and Dan’s month-long challenge goes beyond the physical. It’s a symbol of their dedication, a rallying cry to inspire others and a testament to the charity’s mission. Leading from within means taking action and showing, through personal sacrifice and effort, that the cause is worth fighting for.
Their dedication is infectious and it’s a reminder
