offerings cater to the diverse needs of high- mix PCB assembly.

RDP Electronics will exhibit its range of displacement transducers, load cells, pressure transducers, torque transducers, and instrumentation/data acquisition equipment. Interlink Electronics, with its recent acquisition of Calman Technology, offer an extensive range of force, touch and piezoelectric sensors, membrane keypads, and electrochemical gas and environmental sensors. Jakob Hatteland Computer, the creator of RamBase, an ERP system designed for the electronics industry, will promote its solutions designed to address the challenges faced by electronics manufacturing and wholesale distribution companies. Additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, continues its inexorable march to becoming a

mainstream production technique spanning all industry sectors. It will be represented by numerous companies offering hardware and consumables or subcontract design and production services. Additive by Matsuura, for example, will feature

a range of different 3D printing technologies it offers from its Additive

Manufacturing Facility in the Midlands, including HP Multi-Jet Fusion equipment. Without the need for support structures, it is said to achieve consistency, uniformity, and repeatability when printing white parts, while offering more post-processing freedom to

achieve vibrant colours and good light refraction.

Additive-X will advise on how to implement 3D printing and

maximise profitability,

as well as

solve bottlenecks and other production problems. CREAT3D will promote its latest 3D printers and materials including nylons, high-temperature materials, composites and fibre reinforcements, metals, and flexible materials. IPFL will discuss precision micro 3D printing, high resolution stereolithography, durable nylon multi-jet fusion and fused deposition modelling materials.

Additional products and services on offer will encompass industrial flooring, workshop equipment, labelling systems, signage, dust and fume extraction, humidity control, workplace storage, bespoke case and foam manufacture, plastic packaging and injection moulding, hand tools, adhesives, waste removal and recycling, freight services and training. The event is also an important destination for sourcing all types of subcontract services, while providers of business consultancy and financial services will similarly outline how they can help industrial companies to prosper in these difficult times.

The Southern show organisers operate an inclusive approach when it comes to stand bookings, ensuring that smaller vendors have a significant presence and are not overshadowed by the major manufacturers.

It creates a vibrant atmosphere that fosters a welcoming and collaborative environment, distinguishing it from most other events in the trade show calendar.

Although the industries and technologies represented are diverse, there is no separation between the areas, allowing cross-over between the different disciplines. Visitors often comment that it is a facet of the show that is particularly useful, as it encourages a wide-ranging itinerary though the exhibition hall, leading to discovery of firms specialising in related technologies that would otherwise probably be missed. Technology Trails grouping exhibitors with similar expertise in particular areas help to guide visitors around the event.

A key part of the show is the extensive technical seminar programme. Presentations will provide valuable learning opportunities, with topics spanning advice for small manufacturers looking to improve their relationship with customers, how to enhance a sales team’s performance, CE and UKCA marking compliance, sustainable practices in manufacturing, management skills coaching including how to address the challenges of hybrid working, and digital process management.

Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2024 co-locates with AutoAero, a specialised theme within the exhibition focusing on aerospace and automotive engineering. The venue is easily accessible by road and public transport and there is a complimentary bus service between Farnborough’s Main and North Camp railway stations and the showground. Parking is free and so also is entry to the show. More information and tickets are available from:
