Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2024 arrives, more international than ever

From 6th to 8th February, the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics show will return to the Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre with an even greater international flavour, following increased interest from overseas companies and strong repeat stand bookings by regular exhibitors. They will all be keen to show their latest products and services to thousands of visitors from the UK and Ireland, continental Europe and beyond. It is described by the organisers as “undoubtedly the most comprehensive and arguably the most important annual trade show serving the engineering sector, with an equal split between exhibitors in the mechanical engineering and electrical/electronic sectors”.

T

he exhibition has progressed enormously since its inception in 1997, evolving from a regional gathering of local companies into a pan-European show

that relocated to its current location in Farnborough in 2008. It is an essential venue for those in manufacturing involved in design, development, production, procurement or management, offering a comprehensive platform to explore the best in production equipment, metrology, quality control, finishing, labelling and more. On display also will be an extensive variety of mechanical, electrical, electronic, optoelectronic, electromechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components and assemblies, connectors and sensors, drives and encoders. Industry 4.0 solutions will be in evidence alongside controls, displays, HMIs, data acquisition systems and virtual reality. Automation solutions on both the mechanical engineering and electronics sides will be prominent this year, as it helps to alleviate the increasing shortage of skilled labour in Britain and across Europe.

It is the venue of choice to see all

the latest in SMT, PCB design, contract electronics manufacture, box build, components, assemblies, measurement and inspection. Looking at PCB manufacture, test, interconnection and supply, there will be offerings from Accelonix, Anglia Transformers, Bentec, COAX Connectors, Corintech, Easby Electronics, Electronic Manufacturing Solutions, Electronics UK, Escatec, FermionX Manufacturing, Matrix, Mycronic, NCAB, Incap, PCB Connect, Pillarhouse, Quality Precision Electronics, RJS Electronics, RVL, and Timely Products – no
