Cheryl Taylor, Editor, asks retailer Rachael Brereton of Rebel & Rose, Leeds, why she buys Eastern Counties Leather?

Kindly tell us about your shop, its location and your customers? My new shop is only ten weeks old! (I have another shop which has been running for five years). The new shop is called 'Rebel & Rose' and is situated in Chapel Allerton, Leeds. This is a fantastic location near to Leeds city centre - but not actually in the centre. This means it is so much easier for customers to access - also there is free parking. My shop is amongst many other independents; customers are fiercely loyal and try to shop 'local' as much as they can. Our customers ages range from 20 - 70+ and I stock handbags to suit all ages, tastes, and budgets.

What made you decide to buy this brand? A great range of stylish products. Fantastic quality. Frequent new additions to the various ranges. Great service/after sales care.

How did you find out about the brand, where and when? I discovered the brand initially at the NEC Spring Fair a few years ago. I have since built up a relationship with Malcolm Burnett

Which features of the brand do you like best and why? Colourful leather - not just black and navy. Classic pieces as well as more unusual designs, very well made.

How does this brand compare with other brands in the same category you stock/have stocked? It offers better quality, beautiful leather, much larger ranges both in style and colour.

Which styles have worked best for you? Melissa, Callie and especially Bonnie. The leather makeup bags (Erica) are very popular in my new shop. Joy is proving a good seller too

Is the brand one of your best-sellers? Where does it stand price-wise? Yes it is one of my best sellers. It is one of my more expensive ranges, as I also sell non-leather bags

Which are the most popular styles? Melissa, Callie and especially Bonnie. The leather makeup bags (Erica) are very popular in my new shop. Joy is proving a good seller too

Have you recommended the brand to other retailers? Yes I have!

Please tell about the service you receive from the manufacturer? Fantastic service. I feel very much like a valued customer. Efficient and friendly service from the sales team (and processing payment). Especially kind and super service from Malcom Burnet.
