ERP SOFTWARE & MACHINE BUILDING FEATURE

ERP software helps manufacturers to embrace technology-driven collaborative working

E

nterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is playing a critical role in helping manufacturers

exploit technology to boost productivity. Syspro ERP from K3 Syspro is said to give business leaders the ‘super powers’ they need to streamline operations, improve efficiency and reap the rewards of collaborative working. As manufacturers confront the challenges ahead, their relationship with technology is changing. Effective automation is not about replacing the entire workforce with robots but equipping people with the technological tools they need to work more effectively. ERP already has the power to revolutionise your

business and its systems will form the backbone of future advances in robotics. Customers can choose from an array of integrated products designed to make their business leaner and fitter to compete on a global stage. K3 Syspro’s sole focus is on helping

manufacturers enhance their operational performance and become more competitive. As factories become increasingly digitised, it is critical to gather, interpret and harness data to meet common goals. Effective ERP unlocks the potential of an enterprise by synchronising data, sharing

knowledge and facilitating collaborative working from the shop floor upwards. With SYSPRO ERP, you can connect and empower individuals, teams and departments to pull in the same direction. Everyone can access the same information about how the business is performing today and commit to the same ambition for where it will stand in the future. That information is available in a user-friendly form which can be accessed however and whenever you wish. The benefits of that joined up working can potentially span a manufacturer’s entire supply chain. The result is greater efficiency, increased productivity and improved morale. Inter-departmental collaboration is supported

through Workflow Services, whilst a comprehensive suite of reporting software allows employees to create and share information more effectively to ensure they have the same insight into the inner workings of the business: • Syspro Reporting allows you to produce, tailor

and schedule the distribution of reports in a format of your choosing. • Syspro Inventory Management allows for

greater inventory control and traceability to optimize stocking levels, improve efficiencies and improve customer service.

• Inventory Families and Groupings and

Inventory Optimisation allows you to group similar Inventory items to allow for consolidated forecasting and optimisation. • Syspro’s Request for Quote (RFQ) creates and submits an RFQ’s to multiple SYSPRO suppliers, recording and tracking bids and initiating a Requisitions & Purchase Orders from the successful bid. • Syspro Work In Progress helps your business track and manage job costs more effectively. • Projects and Contracts collates information

on complex projects requiring multiple activities, incorporating multiple work streams and facilitates accurate profit reporting. K3 Syspro’s comprehensive ERP offer

empowers manufacturers to get their teams singing from the same hymn sheet. Once disparate groups of people can share accurate and up-to-date information, they are far more likely to work collaboratively and buy into the strategic vision of the business.

toothbrush manufacturer has used mk Profile Systems’ 40 series profile to create a protective device guard for their packaging area. The toothbrushes were already in their primary packaging, so there were no sanitary requirements, but the protective guard is located in a typical cleanroom. The guard, which was all made from the mk 40 series profile, was made entirely to the bespoke specifications of

also incorporated into the protective guard. It was crucial to ensure that the enclosure allowed easy access to the interior to allow for maintenance work to be carried out. This was done by incorporating two maintenance doors, also out of the 40 series profile, with a locking mechanism for the doors being provided by the customer. Different panelling

made from powder- coated sheets, Makrolon and powder-coated

perforated sheets were used, again as per the customer’s requirements. Finally, the enclosure was mounted on

levelling feet, which can easily compensate for uneven floors. The customer has a perfectly tailored

solution to their guarding requirements with integrated conveyor technology, all from one single source. mk Profile Systems offers over 250 different profiles across their 25mm, 40mm, 50mm and 60mm ranges. Their extensive conveyor range covers over 20 standard conveyor systems for all all types of goods in nearly all factory environments. The modular nature of the mk system means that all elements of the system work in conjunction with each and can easily be adapted or added to at a later date.
